| What are odds of shutdown w/ the new leader? |
I think high because compromising with the Dems on the CR is what caused the revolt against McCarthy. The GOP can’t pass anything without help from the Dems. |
NP and who knows. The new speaker has already said he was in favor of a CR until January or April so presumably that is the position he's going to take and I can't imagine Dems would object to another CR. |
Only if its a clean CR which remains to be seen. |
Congress needs to do the job they were elected to do and pass a damn budget. Tired of half @ssed CRs. |
| I think there will be a shutdown. |
Agreed. CRs make my job challenging - so I'd prefer a budget as well. But what can we do besides call our representatives and/or vote. |
I'm leaning that way as well - now that the clown car is in charge of the House. |
| I am hoping for a shutdown so that I can go hanging out in Miami on the tax payers' dime. |
| Gaetz already said he will give the new speaker more leeway on spending, so I think the chance of at least a CR is high. More appropriations bills on the House floor this week. |
But how does Nestor feel about it all? |
Sounds like the new speaker has a Nestor of his own! On topic: I think there will be a CR until Jan. These people don't have any real vision and they have a mess to clean up after their 3 weeks of dirty laundry. |
LOL, as if you were competent enough to get a federal job. Nice try, though. |
Give them credit. There are many agencies that have that portion of the civil service work force that gives feds a bad name. From my experience, the majority of feds are hard working and dedicated to their job/mission. But there are a minority who are lazy and just do the minimum they need to get by and prevent risk being removed from the civil service. Unfortunately these are typically too visible and hence the public's bad impressions of civil servants. PP sounds like one of those. |
