Same!!! |
the only way there will be a November shutdown is if Trump makes a big ruckus about it, McCarthy is successfully outed, and the right-wing media is clamoring for it (possibly by increased rhetoric on border control). but Trump and the right-wing media were pretty quiet this time. |
This. |

The people who want a shutdown to avoid an annoying colleague or get days off kill me. Presumably, if you are a fed with any kind of time in, you have a decent amount of annual leave. You also likely can take sick leave pretty freely.
So use your time off! |
yes, VLTP is a directed program to individuals. A leave bank manages the pool of donated leave so you don't have to select individuals and donate directly to them. At my agency the leave bank takes one PP of leave annually for membership and will auto-receive any use or lose that would automatically be lost. |
It can be hard to take a lot of leave when big projects are due. Also, to take any decent length of sick leave you have to actually be sick with a doctor's note. |
The work doesn't stop piling up on when you're away on leave. |
DP - I get that things have been hectic across federal agencies, but shutdowns can have really terrible consequences for lower GS feds and government contractors. People who are just starting out aren't going to have much saved. And despite what many people think, entry-level contractors generally aren't making a ton of money--especially those working for firms that do mostly public sector work. It really drives me crazy when people root for a shutdown because it discounts how negatively it impacts so many people. |

On the last thread I said the shut down wasn't happening and was tasked how do I know and that I have my head in the sand. Lmao I WAS 100% right and I want my 🍪 now!!!
Told you all! But you didn't listen. |
| Every day is shutdown is da gubmint cuz they don’t do nothing anyways. |
Here's your cookie, from a poster on that other thread who was absolutely certain there would be a shutdown! It's well-earned, PP.

Oh OK. When you have cancer and need novel immunotherapy because chemo/radio aren't working for you, please don't whine that there is none. My husband at NIH apparently does nothing, according to you. |
How does one do this? |
Wonderful |
Well they clearly did not provide you with an education... |
