Teen possibly abducted from party in CA

Anonymous
I don’t think it’s at all clear she was abducted. I haven’t heard of any evidence that suggests that. I’ve been following along on websleuths and I agree with the posters there that there are two scenarios that seem most likely. She crashed the car on her way home, possibly going into the nearby lake or she went to an after party where she possibly OD’d (or something else bad happened) and the people there panicked and hid her.

She was by all accounts very drunk at a minimum at by 12:30 when she was last seen. It is also likely that her phone was close to dead at that point because from her friend SS’s account, they turned on her car at 11:30 to charge their phones for 15 minutes.

The only reason we are hearing about it. She's a pretty, blonde woman. I hope she's found safe and alive.

I don't know how this case of one missing white girl made national news but here we go again. Meanwhile, Latino, Native American, and Black children have a higher abduction rate. The bias is real and sickening.

Your post is sickening as well, given that it shows up in a thread about a missing person. What’s wrong with you? You want to tell this girl’s parents that you are disgusted by the fact that people care about her disappearance? If you have one iota of decency you’d realize that your point belongs in a thread about politics or ideally, in a different “off-topic” one about missing BIPOC people you are concerned about. But you never do post about those missing kids, do you?

No, you don't care about her disappearance. You're just gossiping and speculating about what happened to her. It's just fodder for DCUM.

I do care about her disappearance, the same as I do whenever I hear that any person is missing. I read every last amber alert and missing person notice that I see for my area and I pay attention to the cars and license plate numbers the public is asked to look out for.

I do not find anything wrong with speculating about what may have happened if it’s done in a respectful way. It’s human nature to want to find out what happened in a terrifying situation like this, both because it’s a mystery we want solved and because we want to think the knowledge we learn will help keep us and our families safe. And I did learn lessons from both the California hiking family death and Hannah Graham threads on here that I have drilled into my kids’ heads. I find the people who blame the victim or family to be disgusting. I find the people taking political jabs at others here disgusting. And I will always find it disgusting when people come onto a thread like this act outraged by the attention given to the story. The points are valid, but the venue is so very wrong and it s*cks that there is a single person on here who doesn’t care about each and every last missing kid regardless of who they are.

Eh, she was in a wooded area. Could very easily have ran off the road and down an embankment. They'll find her in 20 years.

It’s really sad. Apparently many of the kids who were at the party are not coming forward with information they have. Even just to share photos that may have been taken at the party. I agree if she was driving impaired, it’s quite possible to go off road or into a body of water. I just wish the kids would share what they may have seen so other scenarios can be ruled out.

Where are the parents?

New car? 9 year old CRV. Try reading.

Would you people feel better if this wasn't in the news?

Stop YOUR racism.

Such a needless tragedy for a 16 year old.

This. Look, I agree there is a bias. But instead of defiling a discussion about this girl, which is a tragedy too, do something about it. Stop coming on here and whining about it w/o acting on it.

You don’t have a 14 yo, I am guessing. Many of them are in a hurry to grow up. It’s a common source of tension with parents.

It depends what you expose them to. Trash TV (like the Bachelor, Love Island)? High school parties with no parents present? Underage drinking?

You have to be strict and not fall for the line, "everyone does it."

+1 Parenting is not easy during the teen years, and no one is perfect; but some things should be obvious.

The sad irony is that the sick people criticizing her parents would be falling all over themselves to praise them if the girl hadn’t disappeared. She is a straight A student who graduated high school two years early and going to a competitive university.

It's a tragedy that now she won't be getting to attend.that competitive university and may very well have experienced a traumatic fate. All for what?

What university? She’s graduating two years early from a public or private hs?

Anonymous wrote:While I agree with you, many teenagers do similar things without any serious consequences. It's probable that there were dozens of other girls at the same party doing the same thing who went home safely. A lot of us can say "There but for the grace of God go I" or "That could so easily have been my daughter." So, lets save the victim blaming.

Why do “loving” parents allow this?

New poster here. Are you from another planet? This is what teenagers do! I had conservative strict parents and somehow I made it to so many parties like this where kids were drinking, dancing, doing what teens do. I am so confused by the suggestion that her parents are these negligent freaks. Teens party. It’s kind of a universal, normal thing. She wasn’t a 13-year-old. She is two years away from living fully independently. In many countries around the world, kids at 16 are out working jobs, earning money, close to full independence.

A 16 year old kid out past midnight, getting super drunk, and driving is not “normal,” you nitwit.

These kids know something. The maybe boyfriend was saying on TikTok saying “the sheriff would like to filter any info through me before it gets to them.” Sheriff later commented that this is absolutely false. That’s suspicious as hell.
