There’s a lot of tracks and paths that lead into the water because when the lake is much much lower than it is now people ride dirt bikes in paths that are under water now. If you look at current google maps and compare to water levels now you’ll see what I mean. She was probably on one of those paths. |

Interesting AWP has released a trailer to a video about finding Kiely. Surprised how sensationalistic it is?

A teen girl that young should not be at a huge drunken and drug-fest rager party like that full of random creeps much older than her, period. Two, she shouldn't be driving to a party like that -- on the prior page a PP cited proof it was actually illegal for her to be driving alone past 11PM. Knowing that, and in general, her mother should have gone to retrieve her from the party between 11PM and 12AM. And it takes me all of five seconds to see the boyfriend her parents let her be with is a deadbeat lowlife. Her parents failed her, repeatedly. |
What would be a possible motive for murder? Someone is looking for unicorns when they hear hoofbeats. |
Yes, the sensationalistic tone is disappointing. I’ve been watching their videos for about a year and they do good work. They bring closure to a lot of families who are ignored. |

The entire episode is available for viewing now. It is sensationalist. AWP does blur some images, probably of Kiely's body. I give them credit for that. There are a gazillion ads.
It is apparent from the video that AWP thinks there might have been foul play. Kiely was not in the driver's seat when the car was found. They call Kiely's family before they call LE. Kiely's dad and grandfather are on the scene. Her dad is angry because he can't understand LE could have missed a car that close to where she disappeared in shallow water. AWP won't argue the point with them. I did respect them when one of them tells her dad that "Dude, it's up to you.." but you probably don't want to look at her body when the car is pulled out. You don't want to see that. Her dad agrees and walks away. It is easy to criticize them for being unduly sensationalist, but.....These guys don't get paid. They don't charge families and LE doesn't pay them. A LOT of the money they raise is from the ads in their videos and this episode is going to generate more interest than the cold cases they usually solve. The more money AWP raises, the more cases it can take on, helping more families. |
Oh huh interesting - did it say where she was? (I’m a little scared to watch the video) |
She wasn’t in the driver’s seat…but was her seatbelt on, wherever she was? I would imagine she would have been trying to escape the car if she were conscious, so hardly surprising if she wasn’t in the driver’s seat. |

Someone else was probably driving and escaped from the car. I can totally see some dumb young, drunk male being like “Hey let’s off road near the lake” and then totally driving right into the drink.
He car was found submerged in only 10-15 feet of water, not far from the shoreline. |
