I think they only have funding for one pay period. After, everyone essential will be working without pay again. The guidance was very unclear.

Well, I agree with you. Unfortunately it’s a very different place than it was 2 years ago. Pompeo’s statement that morale is good is laughable.

Meanwhile, security meetings for the Super Bowl are being cancelled. Atlanta’s airport is the busiest in the world anyway, nevermind with 100,000+ in the city for the SB. Security for the SB is a huge undertaking, not just with local police but also with the FBI and DHS, and immigration, customs and border protection, and FEMA. I can tell you right now, I have ardent Fox News following Republicans that I work with. I’m even friends with some. They want their paychecks too. It’s tough to support a family when you’re missing a paycheck. This idea that all government workers are Democrats was always an obvious lie. The Republicans I know would gladly give up the Super Bowl for their pay.
