Even worse. You should have sense by now. What do you think of Youngkin's executive orders?

Sigh. Look... you have your opinion, and I have mine. I have tried to explain my rationale, but you still refuse to accept that my opinion has any legitimacy whatsoever. Try not to be so close-minded. We have different priorities right now.

For fighting against mask mandates? It was worth it to you? And you know it's just going to be performance--FCPS will be able to keep them as long as the CDC recommends it (and that's how long they would have kept them anyway) or the legislation changes--which isn't the governor anyway. I hope you think about your voting a little more carefully rather than impulsively in the future if this really is your thought process.

Over a mask mandate? For real? Wow.

Since you didn't see my response from upthread. Yes, for real.

I do think my voting for Youngkin will be worth it to me and my family. I am hoping that FCPS will bend to the pressure sooner rather than later. We shall see. FWIW, I care mostly about protecting the environment in meaningful ways, enacting strict gun control, and balancing the budget. Not like the Democrats are getting any of that done for me.

I think it is a shame that Youngkin is pushing back against the vaccine mandates, but considering the Supreme Court decision, it isn't like McAuliffe would have been able to enforce them either.

Pressure for what? Masks?

And VA requires a balanced budget so not sure why that’s relevant. Federally, Ds do a better job at balancing the budget.

Ds have pushed for gun control and environmental protections for years. Blocked by Rs.

So…for real?

Yes, for real. Four years of Youngkin versus four years of McAuliffe will likely not make much difference with regard to the policies I care about.
But hopefully, Youngkin will make a difference with eliminating the mask mandate and keeping our kids in school.

Wow. So incredibly irrational.

You say you’re a math teacher?

Oh hang on. You voted for a REPUBLICAN governor, because Republicans are known for their environmental stewardship, support for common sense gun legislation, and ability to balance budgets?

I can't stop laughing. Gun control is the funniest one!! I hope SNL visits this page the script just wrote itself.

Well, I am. In FCPS. But it's OK if you don't believe me. You seem to be turning a blind eye to a lot of truths.

But it was a total dick move for Youngkin to force it mid-surge.

Why does he want to pick this particular fight with NOVA right out of the gate? He could throw it to local control and move on. Federal disability law is on FCPS’s side. He will lose. And in so doing, he scare a bunch of moms and will remind everyone in NOVA right before the midterms that Rs are morons right before the midterms.

I agree. I've said before that local control is good by me, but saying that and in the same breath telling people they don't have to follow the decision made by a locally elected board is the part with which I have issue.

Wait…what? So there is complaints at adherence to federal government when it conveniently fits your personal position, but now call for local control when it comes to the state? Wow…just wow. Holy mackerel. And you wonder why people roll their eyes at you. Unbelievable.

That’s how people are. Dems were all about defiance of federal authority and their rights to disrespect the president when Orange Man was in charge, but now that 46 is in pearls are clutched at the mere suggestion of same. Conservative Christians were all about dignity and the traditional family but speak no I’ll of Orange Man’s famous affairs and multiple wives.

Sounds reasonable to me. If you care about restricting 2A but you know the Dems won’t do anything about that anyway you may as well choose according to other issues, even if you care about them less.

Choosing on an issue they won’t take action on anyway and allowing the one that can actually be affected by your vote to go the opposite way would be irrational.

PP has a logical thought process.

You are an over emotional dumb dumb.

Fellow teachers- they just keeping saying masks are still required.

What do they want us to do when a kid is opted out, has no mask and refuses to put one on?!

Bully them and peer pressure them to put one on, then face the wrath of their parents and inevitable lawsuits.

Keep teaching class.

or throw a fit, thus communicating to the children that vaccines are ineffective, and they they are at great risk of death.

I’m definitely not throwing a fit. Frankly I’m tired of enforcing so I would rather just ignore.
