Nah this thread was helpful.
Republican women seem motivated by grievances both personal and imagined.
Their legitimate concerns are not improved by voting for republicans, but they don’t seem to be a persuadable voting block. And that’s ok.
There are other constituencies.

Crime and lenient treatment of repeat offenders, lax immigration policies, and inflation are driving many voters of all ages to vote Republican.

Yeah makes sense. Instead of pushing your elected officials to moderate their stances, and improve their positions ( which democrats have proven they will do), ya’ll goin’ with the party that doesn’t believe in governance and seeks to burn it all down.
Go on girl! Do you!

I can understand why Republican men want to control women's bodies--they are bitter haters. Yes they are more manly than Democratic men, but a lot less understanding of women's perspectives. But Republican women are traitors to their gender. How can any woman not be pro-choice? What the heck?

Weird to say you're concerned about crime when your side turns a blind eye to mass shootings of our children and wants people with psychological problems and histories of domestic violence to have unfettered access to mass killing weapons to include bump stocks which can let them mow down crowds firing hundreds of rounds in a matter of seconds.

They aren't more manly, they are insecure manchild material hiding in a big pickup truck or surrounded by guns.

I mean. You guys aren’t lovable.
Like “ oh those conservative rascals can’t help but push policy that is literally endangering the lives of every woman of childbearing years in the nation. They are giving political cover to a movement that seeks to take away birth control. Those scamps!”

Sorry not sorry.

Abortion is now a state issue.

And it's threatening women's lives because now if they have a medical emergency they may have to drive hundreds of miles to a different state and face prosecution, either that or have to wait weeks for lawyers and judges instead of doctors to decide whether or not it's a medical emergency

Republican "manliness" is nothing more than a shallow facade.

Exactly. That was a catastrophic set back which is why it is a critical election issue. Forced birth and anti IVF need to be sent off again and women's basic rights need to be returned for every women.

And it’s people like you who are going (unfortunately) to elect Trump. Your combination of idiocy and condescension is toxic for Democrats.

Right! I'm a conservative 34 year old woman. I can totally understand why liberal women are liberal. I just don't agree that liberal policies work and think some are harmful. I gave examples in earlier comments and was dismissed out of hand and told those things don't matter. Whatever the pundits say, I don't think Democrats are evil or trying to destroy America. I'm married to a Democrat and he's a veteran. But people are constantly calling conservatives evil, bigoted, fascist, etc. I just want to have a good economy, a safe neighborhood, and to be able to raise my family without anyone pushing their agenda on my kids.

Yeah no.
Conservatives since Gingrich have maligned and insulted liberals for the better part of the last 40 years.
No one is nastier than the right. They have pulled the political discourse into the gutter and regularly invoked rhetoric this at best offensive and destructive and at worst dragging our country to the brink of violence.
But yeah sorry someone was mean to you on the mommy site I guess.

I didn't say they haven't. I specifically said "whatever the pundits say" because they're loons. I was talking about regular people. Sorry you can't handle having a polite discussion. Thank you for proving my point, though!

DP. I have to say that it was amazing to watch the PP immediately prove you exactly correct. (And as a Democrat myself, depressing.)

We've become so political we can never admit that the other side has a point about anything. We're all just bad faith debaters, full time.

Most of us agree that Republicans are trash people, but it's just silly to deny the fact that, on average, Republican men skew more manly. Insecure, sure, but more manly anyway.

Most of my girlfriends privately admit this. Many have dated Republicans, some secretly, some openly. Democratic men make better long-term partners, but...

It's just silly to deny the facts. Without women, Democrats would never win elections, and without men, Republicans would never win elections. And the gender/political party gap grows wider every year. It's a well-established fact that party preferences vary with testosterone levels.

I think the macho misogynist Republicans are terrible. But I'm not going to make the argument that Democrats are "the real manly men." Making arguments like that makes us look dishonest and silly.

Maybe you need to get out of the conservative DMV burbs more... I have a lot of relatives out in rural red-state America and sadly a lot of what those "regular people" I encounter out there saying is parroting of the "loon pundits."

And, consider, those "loon pundits" wouldn't exist if they didn't have large numbers of "regular people" to play their crap off of.

From my perspective and experience, in a lot of parts of America there isn't as much daylight as you want to suggest between the "loon pundits" and the "regular people" who those loon pundits have been indoctrinating and radicalized for the last 40 years.

Nobody here said Democrats are the "real" manly men, but for certain a lot of the right wing "manliness" is a front covering up insecurity.

Don’t worry, Democratic men are rushing to catch up to Republican men as far as embracing misogyny. UK author, but applies to men on the US left as well:

Yes, the rise of transwomen is not great news for biological women. While I support equal rights for trans people, biological men claiming and defining women's rights and women's spaces is problematic. Unfortunately, we've gotten addicted to victim-celebrating culture. And white, straight women (from the DMV!) are not that high on the totem pole of oppression. In fact, the trans community are singling us out as oppressors. We have to be careful on the left that we don't just tear each other apart.
