Black Ops for WSYL

Finally some coherent, informative, on-topic posts. It's about time! Here are some further thoughts.

Comparing Hawks to the DC teams is not valid because AA county has fewer teams competing for talent. That is one reason (along with the 14-15 year old "seventh graders") why Hawks are so good.

NextLevel is better than you may think relative to BLC and VLC. All three teams will make contribution to Black Ops.

True that MadLax 2027 has some older kids - some are too old even for the U13 monument team!

True that Monument tryout is a money grab - 2026 Capital kids paid $75 for the privilege of beating out DMV players and 2027's for a spot on their own team. Kudos to Madlax for pulling that off.

And true that players outside of BLC/VLC/NL might make Black Ops, but they will need to over-justify their roster spot.

It is a shame that the Madlax management is not on better terms with the other three programs. If an all star team were picked from all four, you would have a killer team on par with Long Island. As a prior poster noted, that is what the Hawks have going year round, all the talent consolidated into one team.

Not sure about VLC but NL might contribute more than expected because many of the BLC players are born prior to 9/1.

These three teams and MadLax are crazy to give each other a free shot at their players through Monument and Black Ops. There will probably be some player movement by spring or summer.

There will definitely be angry parents if these teams are really cut throat and only take the kids who truly give them a shot at the championship.

Everybody already knows whose good on the other teams and actively recruits (I've received out-of-the-blue emails for one of my boys having never spoken with the team/coach) so not an issue here. If anything it strengthens the relationship to the current team by letting them play with other all-stars.

No need to be nasty.

As they get older kids all get to know each other. They meet at showcase teams under armor ect. Most stick with the team going into HS VA kids from Loudoun especially will stick with VLC

It's not nasty to poke a little fun. News flash to the Dad of the superstar, everybody gets them.

Why be angry? Isn’t the point to try and win? Your son is either good enough or he is not. Making this team is not a given just because you are on one of these three teams.

Good luck at the tryout.

This post did not make much sense to me. Isn't the whole point to pick the best players?

You forgot to put the /s/ at the end of your post.

What was up with Hawks 27's this fall? The other teams seemed to play a lot more than them.

I believe only 4 teams from east regional will advance to the actual WS games. So including teams from NJ and PA not sure Madlax or Top Caliber All-Stars would make the cut.
