When they did the DNA test was it to compare Hugh Grant’s character to the baby’s or to compare Elena’s husband’s to the baby’s? If the latter, we’re all assuming Grant is the father ... but ... maybe not. PP does have a point about Southerland walking by their apartment. |
DNA test can only rule in/rule out one person. The police told Kidman that Hugh Grant was the father and obviously Hugh Grant thinks he's the father as does Elena's husband. |
There’s one scene where she’s being interviewed by the police and trying desperately to show some emotion. But her face is so stretched, filled and immobilized that all she can do is try to widen her eyes. I generally like her as an actress, but it’s time for her to dump her plastic surgeon. She starting to get that Joker look. |
“Grace seemed to have totally forgotten something or had a mysterious flashback” After watching the latest episode, it’s clear that Grace’s “vision” (or whatever you want to call it) of Elena with her children occurred in Elena’s apartment, on her green couch. Grace has sworn repeatedly that she didn’t know Elena outside of a few established encounters, but her flashbacks/memories/visions say otherwise. Maybe Grace is being set up by Jonathan because he is aware of her mental illness and is taking advantage, or maybe Jonathan or Grace’s father are trying to protect her after she did the killing. Or maybe something else. Who knows. |
| Great ending last night. |
Could Sutherland’s hair have been in the hairbrush used for DNA testing? Probably a long shot theory, but still. |
|
I was struck by the scene in which Henry reminds his mother that she said “If we were strong enough to make it this far, we’ll make it through this to the end.” (Or something like that. She said it to him after she returned home from her late night d’alliance with Grant.)
Kidman said, “What? I said that? No I didn’t.” Is she having blackouts? Last night ended with a surprise, but SPOILER — — — — — — I wonder if Henry could be trying to cover for his family. However, DH thought it was Henry all along. |
It’s starting to feel like everyone is trying to cover for Nicole Kidman. They all know she is crazy - husband, son, father. Perhaps Hugh Grant went out chasing after her on her “evening walk” and found her at Elena’s art gallery? Still, I would think Kidman’s footprints and DNA would be at the scene. From the preview of next week’s final episode, we know that the lawyer comes to the apartment and is told about the murder weapon. So perhaps it’s none of them? |
Could a young teen really commit a murder that violent? I tend to think he’s covering for his dad, in the same way he didn’t tell his mom when he saw his dad with Elena at school. I think he desperately wants his father’s approval and part of that means covering for him. Also, was Jonathan’s mother correct in her assessment of his behavior after his sister was killed? Was/is he truly a sociopath or was he so deeply traumatized that he couldn’t speak about the incident? He certainly seemed appropriately upset about it when he confessed to Grace, but did he just learn to act appropriately over the years the way many sociopaths do? |
| I love reading all of the theories here. This series has been one of my favorites of the year in terms of story, characters, settings, styling etc. - so entertaining overall And the attorney - boy does she steal the show. Can't wait for the finale. |
I’ve found the attorney to be completely unrealistic fan service. |
|
Kidman and the attorney, Sylvia, plotted the death together. Kidman carried it out with her help. She will alibi her.
Sutherland was having an affair with Elena as well, which is why he hates Grant so much. Henry is trying to cover for both parents. Ask me how I know... |
| I’m going to be upset if it’s anyone but Hugh Grant. They’ve shown him to be a sociopath during the series and it would be such a cop out to have it be NIcole Kidman. Like, no, it’s always the woman who is crazy. |
More than one person did it. |
He is a sociopath but he didn’t kill her. |
