DS 13 - 6'0 should be between 6'7" - 6'9"
DS 11 - 5'4" should be between 6'5" - 6'7"
DS 8 - 5'1" should be between 6'9" - 6'10"

My 14 year old is 6’5 and he’s praying he’s done—his take is that if he gets any taller, he’s crossing over into special accommodations zone—can’t buy regular shoes or clothes, won’t fit into a lot of cars, won’t fit into plane seats, etc.

There are lifelong problems from being too tall. My daughter’s estimated height is 5’9” and I hope for her sake that she doesn’t get taller than that.

5’9”? You are super dramatic.

Why? I don’t care if my opinion is not popular but women over 5’9” can be awkward looking, too big. Obviously not everyone shares this view.

Yup, all the models are crying themselves to sleep every night because some dorky, insecure, middle aged mom thinks they’re awkward looking.

The dramatic part was your assertion that there are “lifelong problems” BTW.

dp.. but how many tall women are models?

How many tall women have lifelong problems?

It’s a known fact they have more knee and back problems

5’11 fit, healthy women don’t have more knee and back problems than the 5’5” average (obese) American woman. Stop being weird.

I read somewhere that you can estimate how tall your kids final height by taking girls height at 2 and doubling it and boys height at 2.5 and doubling it. That would put my girls at 5’8” tall full grown. Not sure about my son but at 4 months old he was already 28”. DH is 5’9ish and I am 5’7. I am wondering if it’s possible DS will be over 6’ tall. He is right now huge. 5 months old, 21lbs and just about 30” and in 12-18 month clothes. We do have tall genes in our fall. My brother is over 6’ tall and some of DH’s uncles are well over 6’. Just curious.

DH is 6'6" and I am 5'9".

DD1 was 23" at birth and 37" on her second birthday. She was similar to your son, wearing 12-18 months clothes before age 6 months.

DS was 22.5" at birth and 38" at age two. He is now 48" at almost five. He is significantly taller than his preschool classmates.

DD2 was 21" at birth and 35" on her second birthday. She's not nearly as big as DD1 was, but she's only four, so we will have to see how her growth continues.

The pediatrician estimates that DD1 will be around 6'2" to 6'3", DS will be around 6'3 to 6'5", and DD2 will be around 5'10" or slightly taller.

How many 6 foot females are models? Most women that tall are big, not overweight just big.

It’s not easy to be way over average height or way under average height.

Eh I’m 5’10” female and 50 and have NO knee or back problems. Maybe at real extremes tall people have issues but a 5’10” woman is not extreme. Lol. Dating issues maybe but not physical ones.

I’m 5’5 and my DH husband is 6’0. Our oldest daughter (13) is likely done growing based on puberty and is 5’0. Our youngest daughter is 9 with no onset signs of puberty and is 4’9. I think she has a lot more height left in her before she’s done growing.

My dad and brother are 6’4 and my sister is 5’11 so genetics are certainly in favor of a taller than average height.

Yea, DD is having knee and ankle problems. She is almost 5'7", and her legs are very long. DH is tall, also has long legs and has back issues, as did his mother who was also tall with long legs.

Did you ever consider getting your DDs checked out for growth issues? 5' is very short for someone with a 6' dad and 5'5" mom. Did your DD have early onset puberty?

I'm barely 5', and DH is 6'2". DD is 5'6", but she was a late bloomer.

Yes she’s been to see an endocrinologist several times because it’s something that worried me. Her hormones are fine and the specialists aren’t concerned. I still ask for a blood draw at our well visits to monitor hormones, though. Normal timeframe for puberty, too. Some people are just short, says our doctor. My mom is very petite and my DH doesn’t have much height on his side of the family.

"almost 5/7" is average height.

DD is 5’3” at 14 and probably at her full height.

I’m 5’2” and husband is 5’11”.

I think they were talking about women over 6’ and men over 6’4”.

Research shows shorter people live longer, have less problems with their lower back and joints. I think knee pain is more to do with obesity or the type of work a person does.

As for a female model, over 6’ is not desirable except for something unique. Typical models are 5’8” to 5’11”.

NP.

Why would you say that? It’s really important for a man he:

- tall, and
- make a lot of $$

Everyone knows that!

Why are you stuck in some alternate reality where you think a man’s height does not matter? Watch this if you’re still confused, PP
