Starting to Think I'll Never Meet Anyone

This sounds like a recipe for another failed relationship. Life happens or not, you being desperate to be in a serious relationship is opposite of living your life. Nothing good can come out of forcing something.

Why do women who don’t want a relationship themselves attempt to prevent someone else from enjoying one? Go be single. _You_ want to be single.

Again, post divorce 50yo professional men very often land the 35-39yo women. I’d love to what see these 25-40yo guys you’re talking about look like.

Give me a break! A 35 yo old good looking professional guy would beat out the 50 yo divorced dad any day of the week!

Why does every thread like this one turn into a free-for-all on someone's supposed dating market value? Is it possible the OP would just like to find an age appropriate man to have an intelligent conversation, get to know each other, and do all the other things people want in a relationship?

Whatever, what OP is desiring is not a relationship, it is dependency that she craves. I never said she shouldn't accept it if it happens, just that being single minded about finding a serious partner doesn't work out usually. It will happen, or it might not. Rushing into something will only bring her pain down the road. I am not single, btw.

The biggest problem is that OP has teens at home. Which man would want to deal with that?

So, would you say a 45 year old single woman who doesn't have kids is going to have better odds dating wise than a divorced mom of the same age who has kids at home still? Would most men rather date a woman without kids - even if that man has kids of his own?

Call it double standards but I suspect so...men don't mind their own kids but they would rather avoid a woman with kids.

The guy wants the woman’s time. Her having obligations on her time who haven’t left home yet is not an attraction. Her career in not an attraction, neither are her degrees, and neither are her kids.

Because every woman who reads the thread, no matter what her age, thinks that all men of every age should find her really hot.

There aren't a lot of good looking single 35 year old men out there. Most of the single men I work with have skinny arms and legs and a fat waist. A divorced dad who was in any kind of shape would have the edge over them.

Perhaps, but most divorced dads are in no kind of shape.

Oh, there are some threads where women argue that they should be pursued based on their credentials and inner beauty.

How about a man with a demanding job and kids of his own that would like to meet a quality woman?
