I understand why schools are closed (since 100% of them need to be ready to open for it to be a school day), but I don't understand why they're prohibiting childcares in school buildings from opening at schools where conditions are good. It's just making things harder unnecessarily for parents with young kids.

Wrong thread. Go to politics if you want to run your mouth with the latest propaganda talking points. It’s not the Deep South here.

My RE assessment just went up by an absurd amount. They couldn't have put any of my extra dollars to work to hire some guys down at home depot to clear snow? Is the plan to just stay closed indefinitely until Spring?

I've been driving around today. Roads and schools are already cleared. This is ridiculous.

Ours aren't.

Address. I don't believe you.

Elizabeth Street

I find that hard to believe. Just east of you, around Twinbrook Elementary, everything is clear.

I bet you don't have very far to go before getting to a plowed street. And your street may have even been plowed once, it just isn't perfectly clear of snow.

8700 block of Leonard Drive and 2100 block of Porter Road. This is part of the school bus route for Rosemary Hills elementary and they were not plowed when I walked there 15 minutes ago. Driveable but sure to be an icy mess in the morning.

If we had known, I'm sure my fellow parents would happily join in clearing the roads ourselves if that's what it takes.
