I just got back from an errand and drove by 2 elementary schools in dense neighborhoods. The lots were full of cars, all still snowed in. The plow had gone through the lot, but people need to dig their cars out and move them.

Code red yesterday and today means staff don't go into the schools. So, IMO, people who leave the cars there should be towed.

Yes, they should be towed.

My RE assessment just went up by an absurd amount. They couldn't have put any of my extra dollars to work to hire some guys down at home depot to clear snow? Is the plan to just stay closed indefinitely until Spring?

I've been driving around today. Roads and schools are already cleared. This is ridiculous.

Ours aren't.

Address. I don't believe you.

Agreed. The county has rules about where vehicles can park during emergencies. It was reasonable to park cars there on Monday, but they needed to be moved this morning.

Your RE assessment went up so that the County can continue to provide more free stuff. You expected actual local services like snow removal that you could see? Get real.

Ridiculous.

There are only 2 snow days built into the calendar

They need to take away those waste of time professional days for teachers starting with 1/29.

Pretty sure they'll wait until late Feb/early March to decide when to use the remaining makeup days.

Professional days were necessary when teachers didn't have an app. Now, they should be keeping their grades up to date on a day to day basis. Taking away professional days would encourage this habit.

As of now, 89% of roads in the Silver Spring service area have been plowed with almost 100 miles of road still to go. That means 11% of roads, all residential, hundreds of homes. I don't care if you believe me, this is straight from the county.

Who parks there?
Do neighborhood residence park there? Usually early because of the snow?
Are they parking there in the snow because they were told to park in the street so that the plows could clear the street?

Agreed. We came back and made it for one day of school. West Coast family all had the whole week off.
