Will Fenty win the DC mayoral primary against Gray?

Jeff, I won't claim that Gray has been a bastion of strength as Council Chair, but I think fencegate is a red herring. According to the deed for my house, half my front yard appears to be public right-of-way because there was once a possibility that the street we're on might be widened. A Post article (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/05/23/AR2010052304072.html?sub=AR) seems to show that Gray may have a similar situation where the distinction between public and private may be unclear. In any case, it appears to be a petty issue blown out of proportion.

I still don't see you just shrugging and leaving the decision of who will lead the City to the rest of us. Is there anyone who has a hope of getting your vote, even if only as a lesser of evils or as a symbolic statement?

Keep telling Jeff what to do and what his civic responsibility is. I'm sure you'll change his mind really fast. Or maybe he'll call you an asswhipe (which you are).

And Gray doesn't just want to divert services from Ward 3. Whatever gave you that idea? No, no. He's targeting a much broader range. In fact, if you live in Wards 1, 2, 3, or 4 -- well -- you best be prepared to have you unearned privilege taken from you. But I'm sure everyone in those Wards is sensitive enough to agree that this is the right thing.

Why such division. Why is it Wards 1, 2, 3 and 4 versus 5, 6, 7, and 8. Is this one city or a city of 2. What say you when their are houses in Wards 6 and 5 worth more than homes in Wards 4 and 2. What is it Northwest versus the rest of the city. Wow. Your vitriol is overwhelming.

Actually, since Fenty is winning Ward 8, it's Wards 1, 2, 3, 4 & 8 against Wards 5, 6 & &. Why is their division? Because this is a political contest. It's not Northwest vs. the rest of the city. And if you spotted any vitriol in my post, you have a very low threshold for "vitriol".

Also, why don't you come back when you know the difference between "there", "their" and "they're". It might help us to take you more seriously. Seriously.

Those facts are simple and uncontested: As an ambulance driver, she contributed to the death of a patient entrusted to her care. Instead of taking him to the closest hospital, she took him to the one that was more convenient for her schedule of personal errands.

These are facts. She got her job back because the Court found that they hadn't fired her soon enough! So the next time unions want to complain about rushes to judgment, they're really going to have to suck on that.

That whore belongs in a prison, not on a payroll.

But she did not get her job back because she was in a union. She got her job back because her employers, DCFIRE failed to give her notice of her termination within the requisite 90 day timeframe outlined by the District of Columbia Personnel Manual. The DPM only allows for a toll in such notification if there is a pending investigation conducted by law enforcement, i.e, MPD, FBI; OAG and US Atty Office. Ms. Walker's investigation was conducted by OIG which the court determined was not outlined as a tolling agency per Dstrict of Columbia government's own policies. Now if you want to argue that the DPM should be changed to include OIG, I totally agree. However to say that the union contract mandated her return is misrepresenting the actual facts.

Do I wish Ms. Walker was rehired, absolutely not. I would not want her showing up at my house in case of an emergency. Do I believe in due process more, yes. Do the shit right the first time and you do not have to worry about courts reversing cases on technicals. I also believe in karma, Ms. Walker probably was not a good employee, therefore, she will hopefully fast track out of DCFEMS. Hopefully, the fire department will process her exit correctly if given a second chance.

Only he never said that her union contract demanded her return. He just happened to note that this walking asshole belonged to a union.

Tsk, tsk, tsk. Nasty Nasty on such a bright beautiful day. Now when I make typo mistakes you assume something so unkind. But with your typos, again, you have another excuse. There is no need for such angst on such a lovely day.

Or, is it they're.

No no no. Typos are typos. Grammatical mistakes are grammatical mistakes. Or are you too pretty to know the difference?

Oh no! I am not just too pretty. I am simply beautiful. Damn, I will take your suggestion and go look at myself in the mirror again. Ouch

And as for his General Counsel being the same lawyer who represented him in a malpractice hearing (assuming that is indeed the case): What is your objection to that? It's a political position. He can appoint anyone he wants. Lots of politicians bring their own people with them. If that is corruption, everyone in government is guilty, and apparently very brazen, too, as they've made no effort to hide the fact that they've brought their people with them.

Yeah, you can appoint whomever you choose to political positions, but why on God's green earth would you want a man who refuse to financially support his offspring to handle some of the city's finances. Now that's fucked.

Gee, genius, let's ponder this one. Until today, this man was not handling the city's finances. He was the Mayor's General Counsel, with whom he has a long-standing attorney-client relationship. Fenty is entitled to a lawyer he likes; the attirney's personal failings in his personal life are not relevant to his ability to be a good lawyer to Fenty.

As to the new finance job, it's simple: this man has been loyal to Fenty, and Fenty wants loyal people around him. Whether this man has been loyal to his family is not relevant to his ability to do a good job for Fenty.

Why don't you go back to telling us about how much we all need to be stripped of our unearned privilege?

Have you found a therapist yet?

Hey honey you have the wrong person. I am enjoying my unearned privilege of simply being a beautiful woman. No, I do not want it stripped from me. I will gladly accept that men will consider me dumb because I look good, and then well, the joke is on them. But, as to your faulty analysis as to what one does in their personal life should not transfer to their life in government is asinine. It would make no difference to point that out to you and why, for as previous posters have stated you are full of excuses and hell if the Devil himself was appointed to a fiduciary position of responsibility by Fenty, you would make an excuse for that appointment. LOL at you.

No, you're definitely the same lunatic poster. Only now you're staring in the mirror, chanting, "I'm so pretty, oh so pretty, oh how pretty, how pretty am I . . . " I'm sure you're gorgeous, toots. But no, the writing in unmistakably you. It's like a fingerprint.

Wrong again. I am not the poster who made you confront your privilege status. It is still like crawfish in your panites and you can not let it go. I saw West Side Story, love the movie and the Broadway play. Great song. As I read your post, I was singing "I'm so pretty, so, so pretty" to tune. I guess this post is full of lunatics, starting with you. And BTW, you should go back and correct your typos.

Panites. What are panites? Or is this another of your "typos"?

Remember, beauty fades, Ms. Pretty. But given your stunning intellect, I think you should place more of your efforts on retaining your alleged beauty. Clearly, you'll never attain intellect.

You've actually convinced me that you are not lunatic #1. Ladies and gentlemen, meet lunatic #2.

Start watching at 2:30. They love him in Ward 8. First the straw poll, then this. It's a done deal.

What a proud, beautiful Black man he is. I'd like to see Gray make this kind of appeal. Come September, the Blacks are going to know who the real Black candidate truly is.

And, look, Salsa too:

Count on a repeat of that for Ward 1.

Gray better enroll in dancing school. Pooh-pooh it all you like, but this stuff has enormous appeal with voters.
Anonymous
What is a "Black" candidate? Well, I hope David Catania decides to run for mayor. He has my vote.
Anonymous
A Black candidate is one who is Black, grew up Black, was raised Black, and relates well to Blacks. Milktoast Gray doesn't cut it in any respect.
Anonymous
I guess President Obama is not Black. Your explanation is so elementary.

With your definition you should love Marion Barry.

I still want David Catania.
