I hope the legend in his own mind who killed someone OVER A CAR goes to prison for a very, very, very long time.

Do you really think that’s a possibility?

Of course it is. I would fully expect the shooter to be charged with a crime.

It's probably self defense if no charges filed yet.

It’s still being investigated. Agree it depends on the circumstances it I would bet there is a strong likelihood of the shooter facing charges. Appropriately so.

The person killed was only 18. How sad for everyone involved.

Hopefully his homies won't be so dumb in the future. 18 is too young.

They did not kill someone OVER A CAR (all caps! so much emphasizing!).

They protected their own life when someone put a gun in their face and threatened to end it. If you've never experienced this then kindly take a seat with your "it's just property, it's insured" nonsense. A person willing to pull a gun on another person is threatening their life. I'm glad the victim was able to protect themselves from harm. I hope the story is a deterrent for other idiots who think about carjacking someone.

Do you prefer the shooter to die like the Uber driver who died in the hands of two young women who wre 13 and 14 years old?
Or, do you want the shooter die like the young doctor who were run over by his car driven by the carjackers?
These carjack victims are dead, never got a chance to see the sun again, never got a chance to hug their mother, father, son, daughter, girl friend, or grandchildren again.
The carjackers will walk on DC street soon or already.

The shooter saved herself and another perso’s life.

You don’t know this detail. You are literally making it up. You don’t know if the car jackers had a gun, let alone that they held it to the shooter’s face. That scenario seems implausible anyway, since the shooter would be dead reaching for their own gun.

It is hard to imagine a scenario in this instance where this shooting was justified. It was most likely over the car. Which means the shooter will likely go to prison for a long time.

We don’t need heavily armed legends in their own minds in our communities. They are bad people — just as bad as the carjackers.

What I prefer is that armed private citizens not open fire in public. There is zero evidence the shooter’s life was in immediate danger

FFS. I would prefer that not all citizens just stand down and let the criminals do their thing without interference. In my view, the greatest tragedy here is that not all of these thugs were killed.

You can't be serious. Zero chance this person goes to prison.

You mean, an armed off duty police officer. Right?

Yes, absolutely. Assuming that’s even the shooter. That hasn’t been established as fact, either. But if it’s true that an off-duty Baltimore police officer used deadly force in a property crime, she needs to go to prison for a very, very long time.
