Maybe if the police actually did their damn job stopping and investigating car thefts, it would discourage stuff like this to happen as the next escalation.

Cops don’t do their jobs, we citizens have to protect ourselves.

I agree with this. I really don't want to live in a world where individuals need to open fire near schools letting out to protect themselves, but I guess we've all decided Thunderdome is a workable model.

So these kids all skipped high school on Friday, bring guns and some brass knuckles, somehow got to Alexandria from Capital Heights/Suitland, take first exit off of the Beltway onto Route 1, get to Potomac Yard where they decide to try to carjack someone with their weapons. For what purpose?!

This entire scenario is crazy.

No, and Alexandria certainly hasn't. But as long as you're getting your news from sources that feed you soundbites designed to keep you riled up and distracted, you'll believe anything.
