I’ve never visited anyone to renew my passport but every eight years I have to spend hours at the DMV. Why is a obtaining a state ID more time consuming than a passport?

I’m just pointing out that it’s not a trivial task. Especially the Real ID.

And I am lucky enough to have a car & money. And I can track down the various documents required for the Real ID. And while it’s a pain to schedule time off of work I can get time off of work. It’s possibly an extremely challenging task for some people.

Also, I haven’t had a valid ID in almost 2 years. You don’t “need” a valid gov’t ID.

Interesting. I guess you never see the doctor? Buy alcohol? Rent a car? Board a plane? Stay at hotels?

I think Republicans are doing just fine in that area. Sounds like it’s Democrats making excuse after lame excuse - as usual.

Yes republicans are in favor of a national identity card. Must have your papers. We all know why the republicans want to have voter id. They want to know who you voted for. This is all voter ID is. First you have to show your ID, next your ballot has your ID number and picture on it…you know to prevent fraud. Next your ballot is “lost” and the republicans win by 100% of the vote. Just like Russia.

Sure after all the lies and crazy things the republicans have done we are just supposed to trust them. The only thing I would say is missing from the post is how the republicans will grift. I bet they will set up republicans companies to count and track the voters…maybe go door to door asking voters if this is your ballot? I guess this is where your voter id comes in…have to match the ballot up to the voter’s id.
