Virginia’s photo id law only went into effect in 2013.

And I am lucky enough to have a car & money. And I can track down the various documents required for the Real ID. And while it’s a pain to schedule time off of work I can get time off of work. It’s possibly an extremely challenging task for some people.

Also, I haven’t had a valid ID in almost 2 years. You don’t “need” a valid gov’t ID.

That was a drivers license. I know it is hard for someone like yourself to understand the difference between a drivers license and a National ID? There is no voting fraud but because of people like you we need to reinvent a system that is working fine. It makes it harder to vote. I was planning to get a REAL ID in spring 2020. My license was still valid at that point. Then, DMVs were closed for a while. I was super busy juggling young kids at home with virtual school and work. Then it was impossible to get an appt at a DMV. Then I realized my license had expired and I had to get more documents. Delays getting birth cert from home state. Etc. It’s all a huge PITA.

I’ve NEVER said anything about POC. Not sure why you are harping on that.

I think it’s an issue for people who work, aren’t on the lease, IDs expired, not born in US, don’t have access to records or computer, elderly, etc.
