Really? There’s a private Montessori school on the same street, and probably 500-700 single family homes within one mile. That’s not a suburban neighborhood? Do tell. |
You must not have voted in many elections. It was fairly brief window when VA had a voter id requirement. |
+100 Amazing how true racists are constantly projecting. |
I’m in my 50s - plenty of elections under my belt, thanks! I have always been asked to provide ID. Not sure where you’ve been voting… |
They are lazy and racist. Everytime this comes up they claim the inconvenience too great and POC can't handle obtaining documents like birth certificates. The DMV gives you a checklist of docs you need, it's really quite simple |
Virginia’s photo id law only went into effect in 2013. |
Why is anyone against early voting? |
The one off of a divided highway? It’s not far from a neighborhood, but it’s not *in* a neighborhood. |
My passport is expired too.
|
That was a drivers license. I know it is hard for someone like yourself to understand the difference between a drivers license and a National ID? There is no voting fraud but because of people like you we need to reinvent a system that is working fine. It makes it harder to vote. The only reason you want for making it harder to vote is to suppress the vote. Conservatives just want to rule by dictate. |
The process is a huge PITA for everyone. What if you don’t have unexpired US passport or US birth certificate? (I didn’t have a valid drivers license & 2 additional forms of ID to get my certified birth certificate from my birth state. And once I sorted that out it took 3 months because of the backlog.) What if you’re not on a lease/mortgage/utility? What if you changed your name? It’s a bit circular. If you don’t have a valid ID it’s very difficult to a REAL ID. Here’s what you need for REAL ID: Bring one from this category: e.g., unexpired U.S. passport or U.S. birth certificate Bring one from this category: e.g., Social Security card or W-2 form displaying full number; Note: You will not be required to present proof of your Social Security number if you know the number and DMV is able to electronically verify it. Bring two from this category: e.g., valid Virginia driver’s license, recent utility bills, mortgage statement, or rental lease agreements displaying current residential street address, not a P.O. Box. Note: You may redact (blackout/whiteout) sensitive financial information. Name changes: If your name appears differently on your proof documents, you will be asked to present additional documentation to connect the names, such as a marriage certificate filed with a government agency or court, divorce decree, or court order. Note: Marriage licenses, civil union documents, and marriage certificates signed only by the wedding officiant (for example, a member of the clergy) will NOT be accepted. See REAL ID FAQs for more information. |
You had an expired driver's license? As I said, don't project your own lack of basic organizational skills onto POC. People always manage to get their required ID. |
You should probably check the air pressure on the tires underneath your goal posts. Looks like you’re having some trouble moving them. |
Ok. Have fun shooting “in the neighborhood”. Wink wink. 🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫 |
I was planning to get a REAL ID in spring 2020. My license was still valid at that point. Then, DMVs were closed for a while. I was super busy juggling young kids at home with virtual school and work. Then it was impossible to get an appt at a DMV. Then I realized my license had expired and I had to get more documents. Delays getting birth cert from home state. Etc. It’s all a huge PITA. I’ve NEVER said anything about POC. Not sure why you are harping on that. I think it’s an issue for people who work, aren’t on the lease, IDs expired, not born in US, don’t have access to records or computer, elderly, etc. |
