Right??? This is the Rick Snyder/Scott Walker of the 2020s. Sold themselves as a suburban moderate, then immediately gutted labor laws. Walker then went after the higher ed system. People say "don't vote the party," but there really are not options when there is so much bait and switch. |
I’ve been trying to get my REAL ID since before the pandemic. I have a job and three young kids and it’s hard to find time to gather materials I need and get an appt that works with my schedule. It’s taken way more time and energy than it should. |
I have always been required to show ID when voting in VA. Happy to do so. DP |
Yup. Just went into effect last summer. https://www.wric.com/news/five-new-gun-laws-take-effect-july-1-in-virginia/amp/ Thank you, Democrats, for getting it done. |
Yes, it certainly does. However, the rest of us are able to deal with a few hours of inconvenience and go to walk-in hours at the DMV. I think you can too.
|
Great. You can cover for me at work or watch my kids so I can do it at my convenience. Thanks. |
https://www.teamenough.org/gun-violence-statistics This is what we fear. Look at how many people with anger issues who could shoot and kill you for any particular reason. |
JFC. Get over yourself. Everyone manages to get their inconvenient tasks done. You’re not special. |
I never said I was. I did say it takes way too much time and effort to get an ID. Which is true. |
|
To the person complaining that it takes way too much time and effort to get a license renewed - yes, it does. But you acting like it’s some kind of impossible task only makes people take you even less seriously.
Everyone needs a state-issued ID. Everyone dreads the DMV. Doesn’t really matter. Quit complaining and do what needs to be done. |

What's funny is that the people I know who are having problems getting their RealID in VA are republican. It might not work out how conservatives are expecting.
It can take a lot of time and effort (and sometimes money, those birth certificates aren't free) to get that much documentation, especially if you are older. |
I’m just pointing out that it’s not a trivial task. Especially the Real ID. And I am lucky enough to have a car & money. And I can track down the various documents required for the Real ID. And while it’s a pain to schedule time off of work I can get time off of work. It’s possibly an extremely challenging task for some people. Also, I haven’t had a valid ID in almost 2 years. You don’t “need” a valid gov’t ID. |
I hate to scare you, but I see brown people at the local range too. No one seems to mind. |
You’ve posted this before. It’s made up BS. I’m a Republican, as is my entire family. We were perfectly able to gather our documentation and haul ourselves to the DMV in order to obtain RealIDs. I think Republicans are doing just fine in that area. Sounds like it’s Democrats making excuse after lame excuse - as usual. |
Interesting. I guess you never see the doctor? Buy alcohol? Rent a car? Board a plane? Stay at hotels? |
