What do we think will happen on Monday?

Right, because the teachers are the ones making the decisions about closures. 🙄

Are they being paid to work? Then get them working to get the schools open.

Ok, yeah we will get right on that.

Is it too much to ask?

I’ve been grading papers all week. I respectfully decline.

But you are welcome to take my place.

She made the same decision as pretty much every surrounding county, calm down

Nah, that's the expected "buffer day" language to hint to everybody to collectively get your sh!t together for Tuesday. Getting that nuanced language together was probably what was taking so long.

Do the teachers have to go in? They really should enforce that and get rid of the half day Wednesday nonsense for the next couple of months.

APS and ACPS and FCCPS and PWCS and MCPS all closed too. She’s literally aligned with every other district besides LCPS.

Yeah exactly why is LCPS even opening tomorrow

Why are you blaming teachers?

Just wondering, how does forcing teachers to
go in tomorrow when kids won’t be there materially change anything for you. Your frustration is misplaced.

I will be working more than a full day tomorrow. School offices will open on time, so I will be at the school, working. Then I will go home to make dinner for my family before I will almost certainly work another few hours after dinner.

Schools being closed is stressful for secondary teachers who are required to teach an entire curriculum in a set amount of time. TTherefore, every time there is a delay or closure, we have to replan everything so we can stay as close to "on pace" as possible. It takes time.

DP. You are welcome to become a teacher if you think it’s so great. Plenty of career changer programs.
