It honestly made me feel uncomfortable. My drink was just a basic two ingredient cocktail. I think I look pretty normal and forgettable. I made sure to pay cash because I didn’t want him taking down my name and then social media or Google stalking me. |
That’s kinda what they do, no? |
I ... think this is an indicator of the underlying problem. |
Some people might consider that great customer service.
Main character syndrome here! |
It's their job. I'd remember the book you checked out last time. |
It/you might have stood out to him for any number of non-creepy reasons. Not a common order at that bar. Not what he expected you to order. His favorite drink. You stand out from the bar's normal clientelle. You look like his sister. He remembered your coat. He's been on vacation and that's the last shift he worked. Bartenders are trained to remember folks orders. It's how they earn tips. Some orders are easier to remember than others for all sorts of completely benign reasons. |
Haha not creepy. I just had a bartender remember me and my husbands names and order from 1 month ago. Some people have amazing memories. |
OP is actually the creepy one.
|
You sound like a narcissist, paranoid people will become obsessed with you. On account of...? |
It is the bartender's job.
You sound paranoid. |
This just in: Local bartender does his job. Stay tuned for sports and weather. |
We eat dinner at a bar/restaurant. One server remembered our drink order after only serving us once. She is a great server. Therefore we tipped well. She now remembers our drink order as well as what we typically order (dh and 2 teens order one of 2 things and I like to try the specials) It is a lovely circle. We continue to tip well because she makes our dinner nice and we feel important. She remembers us because she is good at her job, and maybe because we tip well.
Never once did I think it was creepy. |
Why are you stalking him by going back to the same bar a week later? |
Bartender had all week to watch the security video while fantasizing about your life together. |
I was a bartender for a while and I would remember things like this.
Most people appreciate that kind of thing. You sound a little paranoid. |
