How do I tell the family I don’t want to work over 42.5 hours per week?

Exactly! She thought she would be leaving at 5 and wouldn’t be required to stay longer, and the parents assumed she would be available for the many days they needed to work late. They should’ve specified that at the beginning, but what can you do?

Op needs to find a way to get out of staying or find another job!

Thanks for understanding! Just how you mentioned I agreed to working at 8:30-5. So that’s when I’m available. They always ask me to stay late because they usually don’t know how to manage their time.
