So Jesus becomes a Muslim and so do all the other Christians? I never heard about that before!

What happens to the Jews?

He doesn't "become'' Muslim, we believe that all prophets that were sent were Muslim. Muslim means "submitted to God" so they all submitted to God, all had the same message from day 1: "worship the one true God". Each was sent a set of rules according to people of their times, I-e Moses was sent the torah, Jesus the gospel and Mohamed saw the Quran which was the final revelation for all mankind. Everybody who is left on earth afterJesus peace be upon him comes back will follow his message, whether jews, christians, ect.

Will it be a matter, then, of realizing they were muslim all along? When you say all will follow "his" message, who is "he?"

He means Jesus. He will preach what His Lord send him to, and will spread the message and be a guide to mankind
Anonymous wrote:Muslima, interesting stuff - thanks for sharing. I agree I should read the Qu'ran and as a Christian I have no problem with the idea that everyone is the same when Jesus returns, whatever you call it. I personally think we humans lack for ways to express divinity - our languages and religious conceptions are pathetically inadequate in the face of it.

You're welcome. I agree, the Quran teaches us that the people who will love us the Muslims the most will be the Christians : ( People of the book refers to Jews and Christians in the Quran)

"...and nearest among them in love to the believers will you find those who say, 'We are Christians,' because amongst these are men devoted to learning and men who have renounced the world, and they are not arrogant" (5:82).

Verily, those who have attained to faith [in this divine writ], as well as those who follow the Jewish faith, and the Christians, and the Sabians - all who believe in God and the Last Day and do righteous deeds-shall have their reward with their Sustainer; and no fear need they have, and neither shall they grieve. (Quran 2:62)

Not all of them are alike: Of the People of the Book are a portion that stand (For the right): They rehearse the Signs of God all night long, and they prostrate themselves in adoration. They believe in God and the Last Day; they enjoin what is right, and forbid what is wrong; and they hasten (in emulation) in (all) good works: They are in the ranks of the righteous. (Quran 3:113-114)

And there are, certainly, among the People of the Book, those who believe in God, in the revelation to you, and in the revelation to them, bowing in humility to God. They will not sell the Signs of God for a miserable gain! For them is a reward with their Lord, and God is swift in account. (Quran 3:199)

The following verse from the Quran capsulates this issue:

O mankind! We created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that you may know each other (not that you may despise (each other). Verily the most honored of you in the sight of God is (he who is) the most righteous of you. And God has full knowledge and is well acquainted (with all things).

I need to respond proportionally.

Ok, so Israel should indiscriminately fire missiles at civilians instead of targeting known militants and buildings that house rockets.

I don't think you understand what proportionally means. Or you are too obtuse and blind to care.

The reason there are fewer Israeli casualties is because Israel invests its money in protecting its citizens with sirens and bomb shelter - shelters that my family in the south of Israel have virtually lived in for years. Jews dont have to apologize for not dying enough.

Gaza spends its money on weapons and tunnels, the tunnels are estimated to have cost at least $90M. That would have built a lot of bomb shelters.

Yes, because clearly Israel has spent $90m on attacking Gaza and Israel and the Palestinians are perfectly evenly matched when it comes to wealth

They found the money for the tunnels and the missiles and most of Hamas's leaders are millionaires and even billionaires. The people are Gaza are incredibly poor, but Hamas has money to spend and chooses not to spend it on protecting its people.

The casualty count is not proportional, but not for lack of effort on Hamas's part.

Also, numbers, as unfortunate and tragic as they are, tell nothing about who started this war (hint: Hamas) and who has since broken 3-4 ceasefires.
http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2014/07/11/numbers-don-t-tell-the-mideast-story.html

So, Palestinians don't spend enough on defense, and Hamas "started this war," so their innocents deserve to get killed. Got it. Clearly they are MAKING ISRAEL KILL THEIR CHILDREN, right PP?

I have asked the question many times before, what should Israel do? Not defend itself from missile attacks?

Maybe end the occupation? The siege? The blockade? Just a thought

The combined Washington, DC and Chevy Chase, MD used to be your homeland. Some strangers came from Ashburn and kicked you out, forcing you to live as a refugee in CCMD. For 40 years, they occupied CCMD, restricting every aspect of your life. Even when the Ashburnists withdrew from CCMD, they controlled travel to and from CCMD, controlled imports and exports, controlled customs duties and generally turned CCMD into an open air prison. Then, imagine that CCMD holds an election for town council and when a party disliked by the Ashburnists wins, a trade embargo is implemented and political leaders are arrested and killed.

You might want to fire a rocket at some point as well.

+1 people seem to forget the history of this conflict and how it all started

Do you really not understand how disingenuous it is to post this as if this person is commenting on what is going on today, when she is not?

No, it is not. This article resurfaced at the beginning of this conflict. I clearly posted the link and source of the article. We have been discussing things that have been happening for the past 60+years in case you didn't know. This is not a conflict that started yesterday but over 60 years ago. So yea, an article from 2013 is clearly relevant

And there are same hate videos on youtube about Israeli kids wanting to kill Arabs, so what's your point?

These are sponsored by the Hamas authorities. Israel banned the racist anti-Arab party. Israel the arrested the Jewish criminals who murdered an Arab teen in revenge. In Palestine, most people celebrate those who murder Jewish civilians. They dance in the streets when child-killers are released by the ISraeli government. If you want to "humanize" then be honest about who is really doing what.

Uhm.... wow, okay. I had no idea

Just pointing out that not everything that we are being shown is from this conflict. I understand that it is still relevant, but it has been well documented that during war, photos from other places and incidents are used to shock people. Before showing an image relating to what is going on now, perhaps people should fact check. That goes for all parties.

I am a Jew. My opinion on this whole thing is that until both sides stop fighting, nothing will get accomplished. What I am ticked off about is how much anti semitism I am seeing. I had someone call me a "f*$#ing Jew". I am not Israeli. I am not even religious and they know that. That is just ignorance.

Anti-semetism has no place in this conflict and whoever called you that was ignorant. Please know that most of us do not feel that way, if anything I have seen a lot of jews supporting Palestine's cause
Israel has a right to exist. As does Palestine. .

I agree with this. Israel doesn't

I have not read through everything, so this may have been pointed out. The photo that you have posted as the most poignant photo you have seen was taken in Turkey in 2009.

I didn't know. Someone sent it to me, thanks for pointing that out

Muslima wrote:And I tell you again , you are wrong. I just came from the Eid prayer and trust me , the imam and the people there don't care. You can believe what you want to believe, that doesn't make it true. Yes I believe I would know more about what Sunnis believe since I have been one my entire life, just like a buddhist would know more about Budda than I do. The shias are our brothers in faith, though we don't agree with some of their practices and this is the MAJORITY sunni belief. As Muslims, we all follow one book , the Quran and there's no mention of shias or sunnis in it. The divisions are political but for you to make it a Sunni ideology shows a lot of misunderstanding of Islam regardless of whether you speak arabic or not.

I am not wrong and you are not wrong. You have simply not been exposed to the experiences I'm citing, and just like I'm not denying your experiences, you have no business denying mine.

I am not arguing these divisions aren't political, I'm arguing that the religious philosophy was crafted, evolved and disseminated to serve the political ends, just like the entire Sunni-Shia divide.

There is nothing I misunderstand about Islam, and that's typically what Muslims says when they are confronted by uncomfortable questions from the non-Muslim side. Muslims have no monopoly on understanding Islam.

Ok.

There are 100 kilograms of explosives in a Fajr warhead.

i am sure they will find a way to blamed the Israelis for this one too.

This is evil. There is no other way to describe it. That Palestinians would put rockets in a playground outside a hospital, and then that they say Israel is targeting innocent children and hospitals trying to get at the rockets. Sick tactics. Sick. These are your own children and wounded you are making targets of, so you can prove Israel is in the wrong. Beyond belief Palestinians. Beyond what any civilized person can comprehend.
