perhaps there are part time positions at the library, a museum, clothing store, nursery, photo lab, flower shop or an upscale salon or restaurant. It could be a service/cashier job somewhere cool.

Maybe Night Dreams is hiring. just kidding!
It's quieter than Clarendon and Crystal City, but there is life. There's a bunch of restaurants, ethnic shops, shopping centers and diners on Lee Hwy, a community art center all the good grocery stores, metro isn't far and lots of dance studios around, which of course is a plus in my book. But it is more spread out though and has a more suburban feel than Clarendon. You could commute via 66, wilson-key bridge, chain bridge or metro.
I agree with yoga and pilates. I never had rock hard six-pack abs because I'm not into weights, but my waistline is trimmer and stronger than its ever been with yoga/pilates/merengue (very twisty on the abs).

Brisk walking is also a good way to ease into getting active.
I'll admit, I have the energy to exercise and but not clean. My house is cluttered...but I figure life's too short to spend it cleaning all the time. I can clean it top to bottom, and somehow it will be a mess 5 minutes after I'm done. So, I try not to worry about it too much. I'd rather be doing something fun or getting some rest.

15:36, if you're just starting to get back into shape, have patience with yourself. Your body/energy levels will adjust when you make exercise a priority. What seems tough now will feel simpler a month from now. I find physical activities that engage your mind/spirit rather than just staring at the screen while you run for an hour, to be more motivating and appealing.

What do you like to do for fun? What did you like doing when you were a kid? Horseback riding? Swimming? Go try a self-defense class - that is a great workout as well as empowering. I went camping last year at this place that had a big bounce pillow thing, like a trampoline. I didn't try it until the last day, and then I couldn't believe something so simple was so much fun and heart-pumping...I felt like a kid.

Basically, if you are bored with life...go look for fun! It's out there!

My car says I have 2 messy little kids. I guess it also says I love music when I'm jammin to my tunes at loud volumes.

My minivan says I have a big family that likes to travel.
I have been there! The first year of motherhood and a stressful job will do that to you. I managed to pull myself out of that and find myself again though.

Take a break and go do something fun.
If you like it, go for it. I shop in the juniors dept too...sometimes the misses dept. is just not my style. Especially the jeans and t-shirts.
I fasted last week. But I couldn't stay off the Zumba board...the drama hooks me in.
I love unusual names. Out of the ones I've heard, I like Zvia, Asia, Kadija, Keira, Saphira, Ellida, Laurine.

I do like Donna and Victoria, although I don't consider them unusual since I know quite a few.

And I have always loved the boy's name in Neverending Story, Atreyu.

Love that name! I was hoping to have a girl so I could use it, but have a boy instead.

I like it, but it means grandmother in Filipino!

I don't know many people with my name, Tanya. I don't hate it, but I don't love it.

Yes, but my side of the room is always messier than his!
But even though I am lazy about the housework, I am the one to get the kids ready for school/bed. I'm the one who bathes them, and I do all the grocery shopping. DH hates to shop.
yes! I am lazy when I come home. I do pitch in, but DH does the majority (he is SAHD right now). After 40 hours at the office and 5 cardio classes, my laziness is my only chance to recharge. I make sure he knows how thankful I am that I hardly ever do laundry!

I have to say Ditto -- How sad, but true!

I like to read those too...but I also like reading the untwisted, unwarped moms' responses too.
