Yeah, I totally agree with all of it. But I hate to say it, I’m still buying bitcoin stocks because I like money. I’m buying ether ETFs because they are producing money. It’s here to stay. All of it. Congress has three new bills codifying new rules and sht. You might as well buy regular stocks but also crypto. But only Bitcoin, eth and Solana. Bitcoin will prob go to a million in time.

A word of caution - I love what Jeff has created via this site but there is a non-zero chance he receives special interest $ to promote certain viewpoints to his readers. There’s a lot of banking association $ flowing to bloggers, large BlueSky and X accounts, etc. to speak out against crypto right now.

I’d love for this NOT to be the case - would be great if he had a page listing the funding sources for this site for transparency.

I can assure you that nobody pays for my viewpoints (well, other than those who pay through their suffering from having to read them). I put a lot of effort into my blog posts and don’t really appreciate your allegation.

All revenue from the site comes through advertising. Advisers don’t influence the content beyond the normal requirements that advertisers have regarding adult content and a few other sensitive topics.
You are correct that given the number of pages that I needed to go through, I took a meat cleaver approach. I didn't have the time or energy for much else. More importantly, the respectful posts were normally quoting or being quoted by disrespectful posts.
Based on this thread, I have to conclude that neither UVA nor VT teach reading comprehension because almost none of you addressed the OP's question. Instead you all just engaged in the same useless debate that you have had a thousand times before. Don't you ever get tired of the same old argument? I certainly do.

I was able to use the back button pretty effectively. Looks like the new deployment has messed that up. The page reloads so many times that back becomes useless

May I request you to help restore the "back" functionality

I haven't changed anything to do with the back button and it works perfectly for me. Let's see if anyone else reports a problem.
I fixed the problem so you should be able to post now. I don't want to disclose what the issue was because I am in a constant battle with trolls who read this forum and I do not want to provide them with information that they can use for their trolling.

My definition of a "bot" is a mechanism that posts automatically without human involvement. I encounter these sorts of bots daily as they try to post spam, create fake accounts (to be used for posting spam), and spider the website in order to index the content. In the over 20 years that I have been running this website, I have noted common characteristics of automated bots. This poster does not have any of those characteristics.

On the other hand, this poster does sock puppet, something I just discovered. So, while I do not believe the poster is a "bot', the poster is not exactly wanted here either.

Thank you for checking, and for the clarification. How do you define sock puppeting? Pretending to be multiple PPs on the same thread?

Sock puppeting is replying to your own post as if you are a different person or making separate replies in the same thread as if you are different posters.
I cannot be certain why that would happen, but I can make a guess. Your IP address belongs to Akamai, a company that operates a content distribution network. I assume that you are using some sort of VPN that uses Akamai's infrastructure. One thing that Akamai does is cache web content. It's possible that either Akamai itself or someone also using Akamai's infrastructure placed outdated versions of some of our pages (like the main index page or whatever page you were viewing) in to the cache. You then loaded those old pages from the cache. It is very strange that this would happen.
I unblocked your address last night but forgot to reply to this thread.
