Sorry! Maybe $4k - $5k....
I know I am super late trying to plan a vacation for the upcoming spring break, but, nonetheless, here I am. We are a family of 4 (two boys, ages 11 and 15). I'd like to go somewhere, even for just 4 nights (April 10-14 ideally, but flexible) Somewhere warm- I assume we'd fly somewhere as I don't think there is anything within driving distance that we'd want. And oh, something reasonably priced would be great! Everything seems so expensive, but I know that's my fault for waiting so long to book something. Is it possible to do this on somewhat of a budget? An all-inclusive resort would be ideal. Any suggestions? Thank you!
Has anyone had an initial assessment done by Learning Rx in Tyson's? Of course it all sounds amazing, but sometimes these types of things end up being nothing but a sales pitch to market their programs. I do not think we would use their brain training programs as they are extremely expensive, however, I am possibly interested in just doing the assessment for my son, just to get a report that might explain his strengths and weaknesses so that we can get him the appropriate help. I'd like to know if the assessment is actually legit and will give me useful information to move forward with, but not necessarily with them-- more likely with tutors, coaches, etc., and to inform his teachers. Thank you!
Still looking for info on Camp Sequoia. I'm sure it is a great camp and that the kids learn a lot of useful life skills during the 3 weeks they are there. My main concern is whether or not what they learn carries over to real life after camp is over. For the amount of money we'd spend on the camp, I would hope so! Anyone have any insight on this? Thanks in advance!
ANy info on Sequoia?

How has the camp been for him?
Does anyone have experience with Camp Sequoia or Summit Camp, both overnight camps in PA for kids with ADHD, anxiety, social skills challenges, etc? Both look and sound great online and when talking to the directors, but would love to hear from anyone with first-hand experience. Or, are there other camps within driving distance that I should be looking into?
Thank you!

Any more suggestions? Seems many of these therapists are full and can't fit us in....
I am looking for a speech therapist that specializes in receptive & expressive language, comprehension & processing issues for my 11-year-old, 6th grade son. We live in Kensington, MD and would like for someone to come to our home to work with him. If you've had great success with someone, and actually noticed improvements in your child with similar issues, I'd love those recommendations! Thanks in advance.
Ah good point. Thank you.
Sorry- guess I left out a lot of details! I live in Montgomery County, so somewhere in the area would be ideal. As for insurance, of course it would be wonderful to find someone good that also takes insurance, but if that's not possible, we're prepared to pay out of pocket and hope to get reimbursed some.

My son is in 5th grade and has ADHD, anxiety and learning disabilities, especially in regards to processing. There are receptive and expressive language issues. Want to be sure that he is set up for success when entering middle school next year with his IEP ,etc.

Also, his school is doing speech, psychological and educational testing (last time they did it was in 2nd grade). If the school is doing this, is it still suggested that we have it done privately? Of course the school says its not necessary, but I'd imagine a private evaluation is way more comprehensive. Would appreciate any thoughts on that as well. Thank you!
Looking for suggestions for best local providers to do a Neuro-Psychological evaluation for my 5th grade son. Thank you.
Can anyone recommend a great psychiatrist who can deal with my complex 10-yr-old son with ADHD, anxiety, severe emotional regulation challenges, etc? He is on multiple meds like Vyvanse, Lexipro and Intuniv, and I'd like to find a new doc who is responsive and will communicate with me between appts when necessary, and who can handle complex kids with multiple challenges successfully, and that will meet with us for more than 15 minutes at a time. (That's not asking too much, is it?? Should we be seeing a neurologist instead? I'd take recommendations for those as well. We live in Montgomery County, MD... I'm almost at my breaking point with my son and need help ASAP. Thank you.
Is anyone familiar with Dr. Julia Dorfman, Dr. Raza and/or Dr. Sanz at Children's Hospital Montgomery County location? I'm looking to switch providers for my son's medication management. Would love any input on any of these 3 providers. Also, are there any good developmental pediatricians at the Montgomery County location of Children's Hospital? FYI- my 10-yr-old son has ADHD, anxiety, language processing issues and some behavioral stuff going on as well.
Thank you.
