Anyone familiar with the School Safety Patrol Leadership Camp in Emmitsburg, MD? Any insight would be appreciated...
Has anyone been to Club Med Sandpiper in Florida? Would 6 and 10 year olds enjoy that? I know it's not on a beach, but they can still play in the lake, correct?
Do you think I can find another AI in the DR at a reasonable price during spring break? Any suggestions for some good ones? I just keep hearing about Club Med, but I'm certainly open to other family-friendly resorts..... Would also do Mexico...
true. Ugh!
Hello. I've been trying desperately to plan a family vacation for this spring break, and having zero luck. Ideally would love to go to Club Med in Punta Cana. Does anyone know if there's some sort of service with which you can find people that need to cancel or sell vacation plans that they've made? I'm trying to find any possible way of getting to this resort. If it proves to be absolutely impossible, I'm open to other options, and would love recommendations. Has anyone been to LegoLand in California? Any good all-inclusive resorts in the San Diego area? Looking for kids clubs and fun activities for my 6 and 10-year-old boys, with a mix of relaxation by beautiful pools and a beach as well. I realize I'm asking for a lot! But we haven't had a vacation in so long, and my kids have never been on an airplane, so I'm set on taking this trip one way or another. It was somewhat of a "last-minute" decision, I just didn't realize it was so last minute until I started trying to book it!
I appreciate any and all suggestions and insight.
Thanks!
Any recommendations for a Psychopharmacologist that treats children? Looking for some medication expertise for my 8-year-old son and would like to try this route instead of going to another psychiatrist. However, if anyone knows of an exceptional psychiatrist with extreme knowledge of meds, specifically for ADHD and anxiety, I'll take those suggestions too. Montgomery County, MD preferred. Thank you!
What are some of the best social skills groups out there for boys? My son is 8-years-old, has ADHD, behavioral issues, is emotionally immature and has major issues socializing appropriately with his peers. I am looking for social skills groups in Montgomery County, MD. Has anyone actually seen results after joining a particular group? Thank you!
Hello. Anyone have any insight/experience with the Amen Clinic? I'm thinking about taking my ADHD son there for brain scans in the hopes that we can figure out the best treatment plan for him, but it is VERY expensive. I want to be sure its worth the time and money before committing to the 3 necessary appointments and non-refundable deposit. Thank you.
I live in Montgomery County, MD and am looking for a developmental pediatrician for my 6-year-old son. I am willing to travel far for a good one. Has anyone tried Dr. Cathy McGrath? Any and all recommendations are appreciated. Thanks!
Good idea. Thank you!
To add to my last post-- if we do it twice a week, would it be beneficial to have Mike one day and joe the other, or would it be better to have consistency by sticking with one instructor?
Wow, thats so encouraging and great to know!! Thank you! Now I'm even more excited to sign him up. Another question for everyone-- I understand that you can sign up for once a week or twice a week. Any opinions on that? We don't have many other activities this winter so I'm open to twice a week to really get the benefit of the classes, but also don't want it to be too much for him. Just seems though that once a week may not be enough to have the effect that I'm hoping it will.
Thank you thats very helpful
Hello. I am going to sign my 6-year-old son up for classes at Dynamite Agility Center in Rockville. I'm hoping the classes will help to build his strength, coordination and confidence. Two instructors, Michael and Joe, were recommended. I understand that Michael has a more gentle approach and that Joe is more of a "drill sergeant" type. Both of those qualities could be great for my son, but I'm wondering if anyone has any specific feedback about either or both of these instructors? I really want this to be effective for him and the instructor could make all the difference. Thanks!
Thank you. We have not done OT yet but I've been seriously considering it. He does do speech therapy (we did it privately over the summer but now he will receive services at school, which I don't think will be nearly as effective as the private SLP was.) My pediatrician suggests that our next step should be to see an ophthamologist. However, if the ophthamologist doesn't find anything concerning, I don't know where to go from there. Sounds like a developmental pediatrician might be the way to go..
