I am looking for a speech therapist that specializes in receptive & expressive language, comprehension & processing issues for my 11-year-old, 6th grade son. We live in Kensington, MD and would like for someone to come to our home to work with him. If you've had great success with someone, and actually noticed improvements in your child with similar issues, I'd love those recommendations! Thanks in advance.

National Speech, possibly Brooke but she now focuses on stuttering.

ITS is in Kensington. I’m not too familiar with their therapists. It’s a tall order.

Not only is this a tall order, but you mention several broad areas. Expect that this will take an extended period of time and dedication.

No its not.

So why not recommend someone who can do it then?

We highly recommend Randi Rosenblatt (CCL in Rockville). She has seen my DC for the last two years, and we have seen a major difference. She coaches parents in what it needs to be worked, and she is great overall.

She sees patients in her office in the Montrose area,

I highly recommend Laura Glazer at Kids Communication Center in AU Park. My ds had similar issues.

We have had a good experience with CITG in Bethesda. They will do a free evaluation with your son and will tell you if they have someone who can work with his issues.

Forgot to add -- I don't know if they will come to you, though. You can call and ask, though.

You recommended someone who works in stuttering. Take down your argumentative side for the sake of arguing down a notch.

You have no idea who you are talking about. She absolutely does it.

Any more suggestions? Seems many of these therapists are full and can't fit us in....
