My DD is 7 year old and would like to utilize her time in some learning. last year we went to city of gaithersburg summer camp and it wasnt horrible but we are looking for better experience this summer. She is interested in learning fun activity like arts & pottery. I am aware of Visarts in Rockville which is far from Germantown.
we are looking at Motngomerycounty summer camps , Visarts (if nothing works out ). Could you please provide suggestion for Arts & pottery.
Also any other Good full day summer camp programs near Germantown .
Any one has experience with Motgomerycounty recreation's Summer Program. I am just clueless for now which program/ camp to Join. I read many posts but mostly are for areas surrounding bethesda and rockville.

Swimming is very technical. If you don't want to spend the money on clinics or private lessons where there is more opportunity for individualized feedback, then maybe watching swim technique videos will help your kid.
You and your kid may hate this suggestion, but talking to the coach before or after practice could help. Your kid could improve in dozens of ways. What is your kid actively working on in practice? When they do drills is he focused on technique and improving? Does he use that knowledge and implement it in the next practice? If your kid is in the pool just mindlessly swimming laps without thought of improving or technique then no coaching will help.
The problem which I am seeing is universal across many kids. When kids are doing wrong coaches don’t stop them and correct them. Average each coach has 4-5 kids not a big things to pay attention and ask them to improve. Second they are not interested in talking to parents . Many kids have wrong technique , bad start turn . Sometimes when I look at them just feels like why they are wasting time.. I seen rarely coaches talk abt technique .. drills they do is horrible..

my kid is current RMSC swimmer but I dont like the way coaches teach in RMSC (cant mention specific location) but most of the coaches at her location don't correct the technique or stroke. Swimmers Just keep practicing their technique and keep doing repetition. there are few good swimmers who are always gets attention (most of them corrected stroke in swim Clinique or spend money outside RMSC ).
My question is how can Swimmer participate in different meets if they are not part of RMSC ?
what are the different ways to improve swimmers technique ? coaches even don't prefer to talk to parents .
is there any other option except RMSC in moco ?
after all these hype how many swimmers make it to the national swimming team.

Recently some one twisted arm of my kid in kindergarden and she cried in class room . we sent email to teacher and mentioned its unacceptable. the kid who twisted her arm is giving trouble to most of the kid .. how we should approach it going further if there is new incident.

I require advise how can I improve reading /reading interest of my elementary going kid. I need advise which books to pick from Montgomery county libraries.
I read through different threads and found parents are suggesting bob's books. Do you have any other book suggestion which will have mostly three letter words and easy for kids to blend with phonics.
I will get books from library so it will be better if you suggest books. I talked with librarian but the books which i found is of little interest for kid.

. People like you shouldn’t be in this profession who direct blame parents without knowing situation.. bagpack was clearly marked with color of the bus to Identify which bus kid is going.. but yeah may be the person was blind so she couldn’t see it.. elementary kid on first day should be aware of every thing.. sorry my kid isn’t that smart …Anonymous wrote:Teacher here.
