My thoughts as well.
The Finger Lakes area is very diverse. Each lake has its own personality.
As a PP suggested, Canandaigua is one of the nicest of the 11 Lakes, but others are great as well.
I work at a marina on Canandaigua for a boat club. If you happen to get to Canandaigua on a weekday drop me a private message and I’d be happy to arrange a 1/2 day tour of the lake on one of our boats.
Happy for you, OP.

And this is teaching him to be responsible for his belongings exactly how?

It isn't! He will probably grow up to be an irresponsible, lazy, terrible person. All because of an air tag in his backpack. Oh well (shrug)!

No, not because of the air tags. Because mama is always bailing him out.

Agree! I am always bailing him out, as evidenced by throwing an air tag into his backpack. Oh well...

X2. Never apologize for doing your best to take care of your children and their belongings. There are other, better ways to teach responsibility.
Anonymous wrote:OP, did you end up getting the magic keyboard? If so, how do you like it? Guess the question can go out to anyone who has it. I also just upgraded from a 1st generation iPad Air to to a 4th gen and I'm debating between the smart keyboard folio and the magic keyboard.

PP here (not OP).
I purchased the 13” iPad Pro along with the Magic Keyboard. Love them both but there are some drawbacks.
The Magic Keyboard is wonderful but it weighs a lot, making portability a small issue. How much does it weigh? More than the iPad, that’s how much.
Because of that, as well as the ergonomics of it, I purchased a slim folio style cover for day to day use. I use the Magic Keyboard primarily at my desk.
At $350 the Keyboard is a lot of money. I don’t regret it at all, but it may not be for everyone.
Spend money on high end cars and replace them every 3 years (one a year).
Cheap on gas. I’ll drive well out of my way to save a dime.

I have the smaller iPad Pro but am getting ready to buy the larger one. The eyes aren’t what they used to be, lol!
I’ve tried the Magic Keyboard and really, really liked it. I’ll be buying it with my new iPad.
Like OP, I’d be very interested in hearing from someone that already has it.

Me too.

Damn straight!
Have also BTDT.
It was a ball and I'd do it again.
The year we went was unusually warm and we covered a lot of ground.
On Thanksgiving morning we went to the top of the Empire State Buidling. There were well less than 100 people there so it was a great experience. We saw the Parade come down 5th Ave from the top, which was very cool.
The night before the parade we had dinner and then walked around the Upper West Side and saw them staging and inflating the balloons, also very cool and worth doing.
The parade is not overwhelming to a city as big as NY so don't worry about it.
Go and have fun. It's a great time to be there.
Date night, every Saturday, almost without fail.
We go alone or it's not a "date". We have a cocktail at the bar then get a table for dinner.
The entire night is spent talking about whatever. It builds our relationship and connection.
My favorite night of the week!

Saratoga is ok, but I much prefer Lake Placid.
Mirror Lake Inn is an excellent 4 star resort. Great restaurants, a superb spa and walking distance to the village.
My other favorite place is the Mirbeau Inn in Skaneateles NY. Skaneateles is a gem of a Finger Lake and the village is cozy and quaint. Mirbeau is outstanding.
