Whether your baby is still an infant or already past the halfway mark, this class can be your one-stop-shop for everything you need to know for months 6-12. We will review the developmental milestones your child is likely to experience in the second half of his or her first year and what this means for baby proofing the house.

We will also explore fun ways to interact with your baby and stimulate his or her senses through sensory play. You will learn ten of the most useful baby signs, how to practice the “baby led weaning” method to introducing solid foods, and some tips for dealing with teething and separation anxiety.

Months 6-12 are some of the most fun in this parenting journey and this class is aimed at helping you and your baby get the most out of them.

The workshop costs $35/family for non-Gymboree members and $30/family for Gymboree members.

I'm almost 35 weeks w/ lo #2 and think I have sciatica. I have a shooting pain in my right buttock whenever I move in any position but sitting. I've been pretty active this pregnancy and have gained just a bit more weight than the last time (but started out weighing slightly less). Any idea what causes it and how it can be treated? I'm a SAHM of a big 2yo who loves to be carried by me and that makes it even worse. I did some stretches and tried a heating pad, but not much has helped.
I am in this exact situation! Let's keep our fingers crossed and hope babies come before vacation.
OP here. Thanks for all the feedback. I forgot to include some of the background on the names.

Jessie -Grandma's name (although she's gone by her middle name, Louise, at some points in her life)
Marie - Middle name of husband's aunt who passed away a couple of years ago
Katherine -Mom's middle name and Aunt's name
Our last name actually means bird in another language, hence the Birdie idea.

I'm almost 30 weeks with LO #2. We don't know the sex. We are pretty set on a boy name but are grasping at straws for girl names, although we both like the nickname Birdie (my DH is open to it as a name or middle name...I'm not so sure). Here's what has made the list so far. Any preferences or suggestions?

Katrin Marie
Katherine Marie (DH doesn't like Katherine, but I do)
Jessie Marie
Pearl Katherine (Our girl name for LO #1). I used to love it. Not as sure this time.

FWIW, our son is named Hardy.
My Bradley instructor, Annie Harold, offers a natural childbirth class at the Breastfeeding Center. It's much more condensed than Bradley (4 weeks instead of 10), but goes over the natural childbirth basics as well as info about interventions. I think it's closer to $200 in cost.
Has anyone done PACE for the second baby? I didn't end up going through the program the first time because of timing, but now I'm feeling a little lonely and would like to meet other moms who live near me and give LO #2 the chance to have "friends" of his/her own. Any thoughts/experiences?
I'm 25 weeks along with #2 and have gained 20lbs so far. Is this normal? I gained about 32-33 total with #1 who was a bigger baby and I remember gaining a fair amount in the 2nd tri the last time, but it didn't seem like this much. Any thoughts?
I'm another one with a July due date - 7/5 with lo #2. My son will be 26 months when this baby arrives. Overall, the pregnancy's been fine, just more tired and nauseous than the last time. We aren't finding out the sex, but I'm feeling like it may be a girl. I'm delivering at Sibley with same OB, but using a different doula because our last one moved I had an unmedicated birth with my son, and hoping to do it again, although an epidural does sound tempting...
I was just wondering if feeling this big was normal with #2. I'm 24 weeks and have gained about the same amount of weight with both pregnancies (started this one slightly smaller). I definitely feel like I look now like I did in my baby shower pictures (at 31 weeks) with #1.
I may know way too much about the guy, but he lives within walking distance of Sibley, which is probably a big reason why he prefers it. He actually walked in the blizzard from his house to deliver 2 babies. He's definitely pro-life, but it's not a deal breaker for me. He let me deliver a 41.5 week baby unmedicated when I came in with an 101 degree fever in early labor and meconium in the womb. I've heard that many doctors wouldn't let that happen.
Hi Everyone,

I want to do a little market research here I'm a newly-minted Our Baby Class teacher and a mom expecting LO #2 in early July. I'd love to get a meet-up group started where pregnant moms could come together to talk about pregnancy, parenting, babies etc and also meet experts from the area who could share info and resources with them. It would be a low cost event (free or $5-10 per time) and I think it would happen about once a month. Would this be something of interest to you? Or are you already getting this info at childbirth classes, yoga studios etc.? Any feedback that you can share would be great!

Thanks,
Sarah

Hello,

I'm WAHM/SAHM mom with a sweet as pie 10 mo whose recently decided to abandon his usual nap schedule which makes me not as sweet as pie all the time . I'd love to hear what other schedules are working for little ones in the same age range. Before, we kind of just went with his cues and it worked well, but I think he may need something more official now that he's older. Any suggestions or words of wisdom are appreciated. Thanks!
Can anyone recommend a daycare (in home's or traditional) or school that offers a program for toddlers 12 months and older? I'd prefer something in NW DC but can travel to Maryland. Thanks!
OP here. Thanks for the responses and questions. These are definitely key issues to consider.

To the PP, if you'd like to contact me, you can reach me at sarah.vogel824@gmail.com to talk about the co-op idea. I have a few other parents interested as well!
