ok, so i know i popped earlier, and i'm about 5 pounds heavier this time (but that was even before i got pregnancy)- my weight gain has been comprobably, i might be a few pounds heavier but i'm pretty small to begin. But this pregnancy, now i'm at 30 weeks, my belly just looks huge. my weight is mostly in my belly people say, though i feel huge all over, but i swear i look like i did 9 months pregnant last time? Is it common for my actual uterus to be so much bigger?
I'm 24 weeks with my second and my belly is HUGE. I started the same size as before DC1 and gained very little this time, so it's all baby. It's shocking and scary too. |
Yes, very common. Your body has already stretched before so it's easier to get bigger.
Yes, felt the same for me. Weight gain for me was the same though I felt so much bigger (and I am pretty sure I looked bigger too). Now on #3 and I don't feel or think I look bigger than with #2 (so it doesn't seem to get progressively worse after #2...)
22 weeks and I feel huge. I have only gained - few pounds - maybe 6 total. I started right around the same weight as with my first. This baby is measuring bigger (my first was always on the smaller end) but I think it's just my body reacting to a 2nd pregnancy and it's already stretched out before.
Yep. I actually gained less weight with #2, but always felt bigger. It was all baby - DC2 was almost a pound and a half bigger than DC1!
On the bright side, you probably won't keep getting bigger until delivery!
I gained the same, my babies were almost exactly the same weight, and I thought I looked way bigger the second time, even up to the end. I had new stretch marks to prove it. DH also thought I looked bigger, and I was also way more uncomfortable.
It happened to me too - DS was almost 3 lbs heavier than DD. I'm not quite done losing the baby weight yet, but I can already tell that I won't get my stomach back after Big Boy. The skin is much looser and I think only a tummy tuck would get me back to normal.
I looked bigger the first time but I also gained 70lbs the first time and only 30ish this time (with one month left).
3lbs heavier?!?! That is crazy. How big was your DD? I am pregnant with #2 right now and am a bit nervous about how big #2 will be (heard seconds are many times larger than firsts). My first at 9lb4oz. I don't think I can carry much bigger! |
My second was 2lb smaller and I still looked bigger. Same weight gain overall.
My second was a smaller baby, but I had a bigger belly (much more amniotic fluid with him). Harder to lug the belly around, and definitely didn't go back to "normal" afterward, but no real harm.
I'm 33 weeks on my 2nd and also look much larger -- everything popped sooner and I gained more weight because I am exercising less this time around. Sigh....
I was in maternity pants at 10 weeks with number 2. So yeah, I hear you. My sister was HUGE with her 2nd. I'm bracing myself. Only 12 weeks now but it's getting hard to hide it at work!
