I heard good things about him and looking for some more feedback. Thanks!

Love love love him! I am 19 weeks and have been totally happy. Very easy to find street parking without having to pay. I especially like his nurse. She remembers everything about you, is friendly, and always on top of things. I like that he likes to peek at "baby" at every appt. I called him on cell after hours with what I thought was a UTI and he talked to me and looked at his calendar and had me come in the next morning.

He has seen me through 2 healthy pregnancies/deliveries and now another on the way. Couldn't recommend him & his staff enough.

PP here. To be clear on my language above, I DO recommend him & am happy with the care I have received.

I loved him while pregnant but felt forced into unnecessary csection while in labor. Did not use him again.

I have the opposite experience. I came already having a CS in past and informed him I planned to schedule this one as CS. While he was supportive of my intentions, he also encourage me to consider vbac and gave me pros. Maybe what you consider unnecessary is not the same as what he considered unnecessary. Not trying to minimize your experience but just a thought. Many first time moms think they know better than docs especially ones on DCUM.

He's been my OB/GYN for years. In my experience, he did not push c-sections at all, and he's not a huge fan of inductions either ("whenever possible, I like to let nature take its course"). Very calm manner. Recommend.

LOLing at the PP above and how he refers to "baby" (not "your baby" or "the baby" - just "baby"). It's cute.

I had two healthy babies with Dr. DeSouza. With my second child, I felt that Dr. DeSouza was very sensitive to my desire to avoid a c-section unless it was absolutely necessary and I did avoid one. Without commenting on your experience, I felt that Dr. DeSouza was good on this.

I also really liked him during my pregnancies. Never felt rushed during my visits.

Love him. He has been on-gym for years and saw me through two healthy pregnancies. Both were unmediated births. Responded really quickly when I called freaked out over weekend with some issues and helped reassure me. Very calm and kind.

Also, FWIW, I think he is pro-life. That may or may not matter to you, but just wanted to put it out there. I mentioned once that I once ran a family planning clinic and he had a really strange reaction to me (started talking about how some people think the IUD - which I was about to get from him - is an abortifacient). I got the sense that he thought I was the one performing abortions. It wasn't even an abortion clinic! None of this may matter to you, but it did to me - I firmly believe in a woman's right to choose. I didn't confront him or ask him about his beliefs on this matter, but wish I would have because it would have mattered to me in my choice of OBs....

He delivered me while on call for Dr. Footer. I was adamantly against a c-section and then I begged for one during my extremely long labor. He talked me out of it. (As an aside, I doubt Dr. Footer would have done that.) He has a super calm, soothing personality. He almost seems stoned. Haha.

Agree, very calming demeanor. PP, I would be careful to make a statement about his beliefs especially when you don't know for a fact.

PP -- that is why I used the word 'think' and also said, I wished I had asked him about it. Just said it was something I personally wished I had followed up on because it would have mattered to me to know! And I would have loved if someone else had brought it up on this very board before I got my care with him....that is all.
