At open house the teachers mentioned out 4th grade class could have 30 kids. Has Arlington said anything about how that works with social distancing spacing? |
APS will not be doing any distancing requirements. All classrooms have an air purifier and everyone will be masked |
This is true. This past spring, the APS School Board voted to increase 4th and 5th grade class size to 30 kids for budget reasons. The School Board did not consider any impact to social distancing during the budget discussion. |
There will not be distancing. |
Where is the site to switch to online. This is stupid. |
Contact your school registrar. |
As far as I know, there is not an option to switch to online. They were very clear during the selection process that they would likely not be able to socially distance in the fall due to the number of students that chose in person. All this was before the delta variant took off, but I have seen nothing to date that allows you at this point to switch to all virtual. I personally feel comfortable with masks because in person is so important to our family. |
If you didn't infer that there would be no social distancing given the 5-day return, you probably shouldn't be overseeing DL. |
+1. I'm pretty sure they extended the survey to allow for anyone who was uncomfortable with that knowledge to switch to virtual. ES kids can switch at the quarter, MS/HS at the semester. |
They have been saying no distancing for months. Like I am pretty sure they said no distancing since before school let out. |
They said no distancing as soon as they realized how how high the numbers were for in person and extended the time to pick so people who were uncomfortable with that could choose virtual. |
If the registrar is unhelpful, contact Engage and all SB members. If there are enough parents who are contemplating switching back to virtual, Syphax will reconsider.

Can I just disenroll my kid and renroll and select virtual? |
They have said no social distancing will be possible in some classes. |
It didn’t need to be inferred. It was explicitly stated. |
