Because the Democrats are trying to make things difficult. They want to make it seem like they're being strong and 'resisting' against Trump, so they are trying to drag this on as long as possible.

Simple = killing Americans

Because people are tired of providing funding for Trump’s unconstitutional agenda. And he and his minions have shown they won’t even distribute allocated funds if they don’t want to.

Two reasons: 1) Democrats actually care about people and 2) Republicans would just blame the expiring tax credit on Biden.
