The dems won't help and the GOP can't govern.

So the Democrat plan is to "own" MAGA by refusing to help and hurt the country?

Why is it always the democrats fault when the government closes under the GOP (which every closure has been?)

No, sorry, the GOP controls the white house and both houses of the congress, they can figure it out.

Again, the GOP WANTS a government shutdown at this point. They want to be able to shutdown things unabated…

It's high time for the Republicans to be the adults in the room and for them to govern responsibly rather than breaking things like toddlers, always expecting the Democrats to come in and help them fix it as they have been doing in every other shutdown.

30%. Senate dems don’t want a shutdown.

If house republicans are willing to pass a mostly clean CR, senate dems will give it enough votes.

The GOP controls the White House, the House of Representatives, the Senate, and the Supreme Court, but look at the mayhem and dysfunction they've set up:

* DOGE has turned federal contracting into a demolition derby. Gridlock, stop-work orders, and hemorrhaging expertise. It’s like they outsourced procurement to a Reddit thread.

* 300,000 federal employees have bailed, including senior subject matter experts. Agencies now resemble ghost ships with org charts that look like they were hit by a shotgun blast. Critical functions? Unstaffed. Institutional memory? Erased.

* Trump declared DC a “national emergency” something something about “crime” or “illegals” or maybe just vibes. So now the National Mall is crawling with National Guard, DEA, ATF, and FBI counterterrorism units… apparently hunting for teenage carjackers even though the National Mall has less crime than a church bake sale. And meanwhile foreign spies, drug cartels, terrorists and others can see nobody's minding the shop where it matters.

* And now, the GOP is sleepwalking into a government shutdown because they forgot to pass actual appropriations bills. Even funnier: a chunk of them genuinely believe the BBB was a budget. Spoiler: it wasn’t. This is like turning in a book report on The Art of the Deal and thinking you’re deserving of a Nobel Laureate in Economics.

This is not governance. It’s a clown car on fire, rolling downhill into a minefield.

It’s now the law. You can thank the last Trump shutdown for that.

I don't know what their plan is, but if MAGA can't govern, it's really not the Democrats' fault.

⬆️ Special elections and midterms will change all that. Super majority is no more. The old geezers will be dropping like flies soon.

I think that’s mandatory, but even if not, actually Feds typically have a lot of unused leave.

Things used to be mandatory. Now, everything seems subject to the whim of the Trump Auto-Sharpie.

You didn’t care when Biden did it.

Well, you did then, and now you don't care.

I did care. And do care now.
I’m a disgruntled democrat.

You’re trying to make fetch (Trump is senile/ Trump used auto own etc) work but it won’t because you didn’t care before.

No, the GOP does not. Senate Republicans do not. The Freedom Caucus is toothless.

Trump/Vought wants a shutdown.

And a shutdown they will get. Only question is if it will be greater or shorter than 6 weeks.

0% chance of a shutdown.
