Was Obama the majority leader or the chair of the judiciary committee back then? Pretty sure he wasn't. |
They already have at every turn. The GOP forced breaking it on Harry Reid by stonewalling judges to the point that Chief Justice Rhenquist begged Reid to break it so the judiciary could be restaffed. |
Affordable health care for citizens is part of the far left agenda? |
Truth. And outside of this crazy progressive metro area bubble, most people realize this. And appreciate Trump's willingness to not back down. |
Go home, bot. Or, if not a bot, go enjoy your healthcare, which is the "unpopular agenda" the democrats are trying to protect your dear leader from destroying. It's hard to back down when you never stand up for anything worthwhile. Trump is a joke, and you are a bot, a troll, or an idiot. |
Pull the other one. |
Three days from now. |
| So I guess he’s going to find a cute way to pay the military while he continues to keep the govt shutdown. Funny he’s telling the navy today not to worry about getting paid and that they’ll be well taken care of… |
Or the guy who lies all the time is lying. |
The democrats have overwhelming supported releasing the Epstein files. |
So did the GOP politicians until they actually had the power to do so. Trump and Congress suck big time. |
|
Question:
If everyone ultimately gets back pay once this is resolved, then why isn’t the default a CR that only sustains the budget at its current rates (to ensure continued payrolls) without requiring anything by Congress? That way any delays prompted by negotiations don’t actually impact workers. Instead, changes can be made once congress reaches agreement. The solution seems so obvious, so please explain why this fix hasn’t been made. |
Because this way Congress & the administration can continue to use federal workers as pawns by picking and choosing who gets paid when. |

Just FYI, the Washington Post and Jeff Bezos is in favor of the GOP killing Americans. (Don’t worry I don’t subscribe and neither do my neighbors which is why they moved our failing local paper to Apple News.)
By The Editorial Board The shutdown conversation no one wants “As the partial government shutdown enters its second week, neither party is leveling with the American people about the hard choices required to get federal spending off a fiscally ruinous trajectory. President Joe Biden and congressional Democrats used covid-19 to justify chasing the mirage of a European-style welfare state without raising the necessary taxes to pay for it. Now, prodded by the left, party leaders have shut down the government in a bid to permanently extend what was sold in 2021 as emergency subsidies to help people struggling during the pandemic afford health insurance.” [lies about the deficit, and a small slap of MAGA] “ Yet Democrats have demanded that Republicans agree to extend the covid-era insurance subsidies without proposing any way to pay for it. The Congressional Budget Office estimates this will cost $350 billion over the next decade. These temporary benefits were included in the American Rescue Plan of March 2021 and extended the next year in the misnamed Inflation Reduction Act until the end of 2025. The real problem is that the Affordable Care Act was never actually affordable. President Barack Obama’s signature achievement allowed people to buy insurance on marketplaces with subsidies based on their income. The architects of the program assumed that risk pools would be bigger than they turned out to be. As a result, policies cost more than expected.“ [more nonsense re why Dems are to blame] https://apple.news/A9CT7nVkiSC6rRC_hLcYeTg *Our traditional media is no longer free* |
Because people are tired of providing funding for Trump’s unconstitutional agenda. And he and his minions have shown they won’t even distribute allocated funds if they don’t want to. |
