With Obama voting to deny Alito a vote on the Senate floor, he had no standing to demand Republicans provide his nominees a vote.

Was Obama the majority leader or the chair of the judiciary committee back then? Pretty sure he wasn't.

99% of us regular people who identify as Republicans or Democrats or anything else want the files released. 5% of our corrupt GOP and Dem politicians want them released because they know what the consequences of exposing their sugar daddies might be. Most of the ones who are claiming to want them released are only doing so because they know they don't have the power in numbers to actually get them released. It's truly pathetic, indeed!

Those of you who have Republicans representing you in congress - why aren't you calling them to put pressure on them to release the Epstein files? If most "regular people" want this then you should be demanding this. Republican members of Congress are not acting because you aren't putting that pressure on them.

Did the democrats through this in too? Release the epstein files? Why not add more random reasons then just passing the agreen upon funding for the year?

Because corruption is a widespread issue in our political landscape that extends through both of our major political parties.

The democrats have overwhelming supported releasing the Epstein files.

If everyone ultimately gets back pay once this is resolved, then why isn’t the default a CR that only sustains the budget at its current rates (to ensure continued payrolls) without requiring anything by Congress?

That way any delays prompted by negotiations don’t actually impact workers. Instead, changes can be made once congress reaches agreement.

The solution seems so obvious, so please explain why this fix hasn’t been made.

Because people are tired of providing funding for Trump’s unconstitutional agenda. And he and his minions have shown they won’t even distribute allocated funds if they don’t want to.
