A DUI that can kill, maim, or destroy a life is no big deal but paying a porn star her bill of service is a big deal?

Do you not understand what Trump’s 34 felony convictions are for? He wasn’t paying a sex worker for sex, he was paying her to keep quiet so he could win an election. And now he’s a convicted felon.

Oh gee. What a horrible crime. He really put citizens in harms way with this one.

The million dead from Trump’s bungling of covid agree.

What bungling? And do tell how Biden would have done better.

Biden wouldn't have encouraged people to drink bleach or eat dewormer as a COVID strategy. The party of Joe Rogan, Alex Jones, and weird supplements on the other hand was all about that kind of thing.

Trump never did this. Either show the quotes (hahah made myself laugh. There are no quotes) or stop with this ridiculous nonsense. You are flat out lying with this one.

I guess you were on a ventilator at that time.

President George W Bush had a DUI. And like Walz, he also eventually stopped drinking. Neither men have had a drink in decades. Good for both of them.

This is Minnesota perfection.

Anonymous wrote:What shouldn’t be lost in today’s news cycle is that the governor of a crucial swing state was humiliated by being skipped over for this nomination. And why? Because the anti-Israel activists in the party would have gone even more crazy due to Shapiro’s presence on the ticket. So don’t be at all surprised when the late night Philly magic doesn’t happen on election night.

This was exactly my reaction to this news. How you all are celebrating the anti-semitism of the far left that this choice has given its stamp of approval for is beyond me. This is not a "unifying" choice, unless your version of the Democratic party expunges a whole lot of Jews. PA is going to go to Trump.

Cry me a river. Shapiro had baggage and right now, someone who volunteered in Israel (and that happened to include the IDF) is controversial. I say this as a Reform Jew. I'm so relieved he wasn't chosen.

And the idea that the Democratic Party expunges Jews is absurd. Harris is married to a Jew.

Here are the top cabinet level executives who happen to be Jewish in the Biden Administration
Tony Blinken, Secretary of State
Janet Yellin, Secretary of Treasury
Alejandro Mayorkas, Secretary of Homeland Security

That's 3 out of 15 positions.

Chuck Schumer, the Senate Majority Leader is Jewish. So are Michael Bennet (D-CO), Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), Benjamin Cardin (D-MD retiring), Jon Ossoff (D-GA), Jacky Rosen (D-NV), Brian Schatz (D-HI), Bernard Sanders (I-VT) and Ron Wyden (D-OR). That's 9 Senators.

We Jews represent 2.4% of the U.S. population. I'd say we're well represented.

Thanks for your perspective "as a reform Jew." Then you would know the whole "volunteering for the IDF" howls from the far left was a nothing burger. Sounds like you're ok with the anti-semitism in the far left of the party. And as for the place of Jews in the Democratic party, I'm talking about the future. This choice communicated to the far left that they could pull this kind of crap and be rewarded for it. You really think Jews are all going to stick around with this nonsense from the left extreme of the party? Maybe get outside of your reform bubble.

You're really going to quibble about using the phrase "drink bleach" when what he *really* talked about was injecting disinfectant? That's a winning play. Well done.

The riots and overall breakdown of law and order in our cities is where the Democrats are most vulnerable. Expect to hear about Kamala’s San Francisco and Tim’s Minneapolis nonstop for the next three months.

Did January 6th not happen? I don't understand how GOP are so concerned about some riots and not others. It's weird.

Bingo

All riots should be equally disdained regardless of the issue behind it because more often than not it's some nut job extremist thugs who don't actually care about the issue behind it....but as such should also be equally prosecuted and equally thought of as wrong regardless of the issue. It's never ok to destroy property regardless of the issue or topic period.

I agree. I read an article about The riots in MN and poor reaction time. Walz was very honest about it all and how it was not handled well. Now contrast that with Trump who still thinks January 6th was a good thing.

True - but I also know many Dems who think the BLM riots were a good thing too.

Dems supported the peaceful protests and criticized where the looting and property damage took place.

And some of them, like our current Vice president, proceeded to bail out the rioters.

You must be really upset at Trump's offer to pardon the J6 protesters.

The GOP voted for George W Bush and this issue wasn't problematic. Walz's charges were reduced to reckless driving. Walz was fined $200 plus court costs, which include the costs of the police alcohol test. He no longer drinks alcohol so apparently learned from this incident.

IMO - worse than the drunk driving charge is him trying to claim to be deaf to get out of it.

That was looked into and he does have hearing loss in both ears and even had surgery for it.

He can’t hear.
He almost killed someone drinking.
He left the military before combat.
He presided over lawless Minneapolis.
And he is Tampon Tim?

Wow so far this is quite a winning bunch of stats

Your lot is a joyless bunch of scolds. Good luck shitting on everyone's dad, a hotplate making social studies teacher and football coach. You look at this dude and start screaming, "tampons, tampons, tampons" and wonder why people think you're a bunch of weirdos.

This sums it up nicely.
Why is the GOP so angry all of the time?

No, he replaced the old Minnesota state flag with the new Minnesota state flag.

https://www.sos.state.mn.us/about-minnesota/state-symbols/state-flag

The state flag was adopted on May 11, 2024.

The Minnesota State Flag represents many of the state’s best-known traits including its many lakes and rivers and the North Star.

On its left side, the flag contains a dark blue background with a white, 8-point star. One of the points of the star points north, representing the state’s motto “L’étoile du Nord.” The 8-point star mirrors the one on floor of the Rotunda of the Minnesota State Capitol, which features inlaid African marble with a brass outline of the 8-point star as designed by Cass Gilbert. From an angle the 8-point star also creates the illusion of four-letter Ms.

The dark background is a stylized shape of the outline of the State of Minnesota, representing the land of Minnesota.

The remainder of the flag is a solid, bright blue, representing water. Minnesota is the land of 10,000 lakes, the home of the Headwaters of the Mississippi River, Lake Superior, and the start of the Great Lakes Basin.

In 2023, the Minnesota Legislature created a State Emblem Redesign Commission to reimagine the state’s seal and flag. The commission received 2,128 flag design submissions from Minnesotans. From these submissions, the commission chose one finalist for a flag concept created by Andrew Prekker. The concept design was altered to replace a stylized north star with the Minnesota star featuring eight points and removing three bars on the right side. The historic flag was retired, and the new flag was adopted on May 11, 2024.

If there was any question about the far left controlling a Kamala Harris White House, she just erased any doubt with this choice.

There is no doubt she will be controlled by the far left.

Biden wouldn't have blamed it on blue cities or held back PPE. He wouldn't have ignored the problem or assumed that it would magically vanish or instantly blamed it on China as a deflection from his own incompetence. I doubt the MAGAs would've listened to whatever he would've done but it would be better organized than the sh$tshow that was the Trump admin response, which also disbanded most of the Obama era pandemic response team: https://www.reuters.com/article/world/partly-false-claim-trump-fired-entire-pandemic-response-team-in-2018-idUSKBN21C32C/ and threw out the pandemic playbook the Obama Administration had put together.

https://www.forbes.com/sites/tommybeer/2021/02/11/trumps-policies-resulted-in-the-unnecessary-deaths-of-hundreds-of-thousands-of-americans-lancet-report/

The commission's analysis found that 461,000 fewer Americans would have died if the United States’ death rate had been equivalent to those of the other G-7 nations.

I’m fine with them. Pretty sure they’ve been around for longer than I have, and we are not a socialist country.
But good try.

Pp here. I support them as well. But they are “socialist” policies. I’m tired of people saying how much they hate “socialism” when they clearly support a lot of “socialist” policies.

The interstate highway system is also socialist, as is the US Postal system, the military, the FAA and a host of other "government services"

Exactly! That’s my point. We have many “socialist” programs. They are good for our economy and our people. Which is why people who criticize Walz (and others) for being a “socialist”need to stop and think about what policies they are objecting to. My guess is that the folks who are so angry about “socialist” politicians are happy to collect their disability checks and complain loudly about potholes not being fixed.

https://medium.com/discourse/you-dont-know-what-socialism-is-don-t-worry-nobody-else-does-either-bb1858f9a650

According to this guy, since we pay taxes these programs really aren’t socialist. In a true socialist society the govt pays with income made by the industry they control.

Since it got buried in the thread (understandably) the new Minnesota flag has become a point of contention for white supremacists in Minnesota. They are very upset about it and many fly the old flag as a white supremacist virtue signal.

Well I'll rephrase,"I have personally spoken to more than one Dem who feels the looting and property damage was justified". But we are going off-topic now. Back to Tim Walz....honestly...I don't care how he reacted to the BLM riots because it was an extremely difficult time. I also don't care about anything he did or didn't do 20 yrs ago. I do care about his political views and social ideology which are too progressive for my taste. Not saying it's going to make me vote for Trump but I am now strongly considering staying home...and this is coming from someone who was pushing their DD to go out and vote because of the importance of voting - DD doesn't care to vote this year either. I can see her point of view.
