20/20 hindsight..Shapiro had a lot of minuses and he seems kind of remote. Kelly has no charisma. I love Wak. And so do many others. |
Shapiro will work PA for Harris. What she needed is someone who is relatable across a broader midwest area, and Tim is that guy. |
Shapiro wants Kamala to lose so he can become President in four years. |
Shapiro won't win because if you couldn't tell by reading all the posts here and in general of his religion. He will try for ticket in '32. |
I really like Walz - has a very good governing record in Minnesota and is very affable. But the Midwest has moved to the right since Obama's time and doesn't seem to be going back. He doesn't seem to be helping the ticket much, unfortunately. |
He's not a miracle worker. Just like Mark Kelly can't deliver Arizona at this point. But Walz probably helps with independents and is generally appealing to a broader swath of Americans. Just a lovely guy to go shake hands in union halls and coffee shops. Shapiro is very charismatic but I find his Obama-like speechifying OTT and off-putting. Kelly is impressive but has no charisma. I think she picked the best option, but none were perfect. Just the way it goes. |
I don't know whether Walz is helping the campaign or not.
But I notice that he's the complete anti-Vance: the "genuine", "imperfect", "authentic", man of the people. Put up against an amoral smooth-talking polished suit who can argue both sides of an argument without a shred of guilt. Will it work? Will it not matter, in the end? it will be interesting to see what happens. |
I never heard of Walz before he was picked as H’s running mate. From what I’ve seen, he seems way in over his head and not someone who should be anywhere near the office of the presidency. Tho I feel that way about trump and Vance too, and more so, esp for trump who seems pretty off his rocker. I’ve never loved Harris but am resigned to her and of course prefer her over nutbag DJT. I do think Shapiro is tge best of the bunch but the Jew haters on the left made it impossible to pick him as VP. Harris is a generic dem politician and certainly no profile in courage or convictions so I knew she would never pick him. The race is so close and think she may very well lose. The only silver lining I see is that Shapiro or some other qualified Dem runs in 4 years. |
Harris can run rings around any male Dem candidate, except Buttigieg, who is extremely intelligent and able to get things done. I wanted her to pick him as her running mate. But apparently a minority woman and a gay man was a bridge too far. How sad. |
They all ran rings around her in 2020. She is a weak candidate. |
Elmer Fudd couldn’t even load his gun today in the pheasant hunt. Another epic fail. |
I agree about 2020, but she seems to be coming into her own under considerable time pressure. |
She was too green, needed more time to adjust to DC politics and gain her footing with policy more generally. People frothing at the mouth about a "female Obama" hyped her too much before she was ready. She seems to be doing well now, focused and using good judgment. |
Who thought Kamala was the “female Obama?” She didn’t even win a single delegate in the democratic primary and was the first to drop out for lack of support/funding. That’s not Obama-like in any way, shape, or form. |
