Lochte Robbery Story: True or False

Anonymous
I would wager that most of these people defending Lochte and attacking Brazil and their legal system are Trump supporters.

Yes, "build the wall" and "Mexico is going to pay for it"!

You can argue until the cows come home about shake downs and the minimal nature of the offenses but it is irrelevant. These guys and especially the douche bag Lochte violated the law there and that is the end of it.

The arrogance of Americans in thinking that they can get away with any kind of b-s in a foreign country is just amazing. In most countries, there is no right against self-incrimination, right to counsel, Miranda warnings, etc. If you don't like the way the legal system works abroad then stay in the US but it is ludicrous to go to a foreign country and expect that US standards of jurisprudence will be in effect.

If you go to countries like Malaysia or Indonesia and are found to have drugs, you face the death penalty. In fact, there are large posters at immigration and customs warning you that possession of drugs leaves you vulnerable to the death penalty. What is more, there are foreigners, including westerners, who have been executed in these countries for being in possession of drugs.

I personally am opposed to the death punishment - and not just for dealing in drugs - but that is neither here nor there. You cannot go to a foreign country and then expect they will not implement their laws.

.
Uh okay. Cite the law lochte violated.

Police in Rio de Janeiro Thursday indicted U.S. Olympic swimmers Ryan Lochte and James Feigen for falsely reporting a crime, the latest twist in a bizarre case that has overshadowed the final week of the Summer Games.

But, of course, this is an indictment in Brazil and therefore cannot possibly be taken seriously. If Lochte pays a fine, the suggestion will be that it was extortion.

Justice can only be done in the US according to some.

He was held at gunpoint and was told to cough up money. Maybe in your godforsaken shithole of a country that is okay but in America that is called armed robbery.

You fucking cretin. I am an American so if you can't live with people expressing a contrary view then you can get the hell out of my country.

Fortunately, you and your ilk are a dying breed and not a day too soon. People like you have no hesitation telling foreigners who come to this country to obey our laws but then you have no problem when an American goes to another country and breaks the law.

And you can't even argue coherently that lochte has committed any crime so you are the imbecile.

Entitled much? You don't really get to banish people from "[your]" country, you know? Sounds like you're the one who can't live with people expressing a view contrary to yours.

Lochte was not the victim. His teammates were the victims while Lochte sat safely in his luxurious home in the US and they were pulled from their plane or had their passports confiscated while they were subjected to interrogation because of his juvenile behavior.

I am sorry you were exposed to a substandard education system, but you probably know that Brazil is actually part of America?

Nice. Redirect and argue a pointless technicality when your argument is lost.

Are you Lochte? You sound equally blessed.

No, any person who assumes that being critical of Lochte means that the individual belongs to some other country is a complete moron.

I provided a link from Fox News which I figured was the authority for nuts like you and it said that Lochte had been indicted. You may not like that information but it is FOX NEWS! What more can you want?

The good news is that an ignoramuses like you who are clueless about other countries will gradually be a non-factor in this country. In the meantime you can continue to believe that Obama was born in Kenya and is a Muslim.

Courtesy of a pp ...... and to those who insist that we are not being fair in calling him a douche bag and dumb as hell, just listen to him - even allowing for the editing to make it funny, the guy may be a great swimmer but he is really a dim-wit as others have been saying.

John Oliver is an Englishman and is white so that alone must carry some weight with some of the bigots on this forum.

The issue was not peeing outdoors. He lied about being held up with a gun held to his head and admitted that he lied - sorry, he said that he over exaggerated.

I hope he is banned from competitive swimming. He is a douche bag and a fucking disgrace.

Dp- I'm sorry that you are so unseccessful that you have to spew so much hatred toward a decorated Olympian. He was held at gun point. To is head or not is so very irrelevant.

NP. Decorated Olympian my ass. Americans much younger than him are currently scouring the afghan mountains and exchanging fire with people who would love to parade their dead bodies on the streets. Some of them will earn the true title of 'decorated' not some asshole who has his head in the water for far too long . Your dishonesty isn't really problematic here, it's the fact that people like you reproduce and likely pass that dishonesty to your offspring that's disturbing . Reducing this to one not being 'successful' shows how tragically dense you are. Newsflash : not everyone is interested in acquiring and accumulating material possessions that they won't take them once they leave this earth . You seem quite the sad human being

You would think the law and order crowd would say that he should go to Rio and face the music ........ the guy left his compatriots to deal with the legal mess that he created.

But he did say that he was very "hurt" that it happened to them!

Lots of posters are lawyers and, by definition, law and order types. Including me. If there were a strong chance of Lochte being treated fairly, then I would want him to go back to Rio. Since there isn't, I don't think he should.

Wrong. You are asserting that Lochte is a criminal deserving of being robbed at gunpoint. People who believe in the rule of law are disagreeing with you. The fact that you bring up Obama and Muslims exposes you for the idiot that you are.
