There were witnesses in the bathroom who neither told officials nor called police. There’s a serious dysfunction there and if it isn’t addressed this will happen again

W.T. serious F. !!!

Not really surprising. They were probably in shock themselves or perhaps knew the 17 year old. Maybe they assumed one of the others kids would do it. The weird part is that they tweeted it out with names. Not like they were keeping a secret.
the tweeting shows they simply didn’t care a classmate was shot . They didn’t care there was a potential risk to other students

They did not want to create a risk to themselves most likely.

But they will tweet about it ? What’s the logic in that ?

Tweeting about someone being shot is no different than filming the victim and mocking him. Unless you can prove to me the tweets were “homeboy got shot, hope he survives, I’m going to go back to class now”

Did you see the family making obscene gestures and holding hand like a gun leaving court? This fundamental breakdown in shared societal values and personal accountability is likely part of the decline imho. Gangs step in to take the place of non-existent family structure and those values are instilled. Communicating and snitching are different.

Other than speculation, what’s the evidence for this being gang related? And what sort of “gangs” are we talking about here? Gangs with international ties like MS13?

I see a lot of allegations about gangs on DCUM, but I don’t have a sense of what kind of evidence there might be for activity like that among students.

So then explain why the witnesses did nothing ? I can’t contemplate any other possibility unless sociopathy is a lot more common now

HOW could this have been so mishandled once it happened on Friday? Esp in light of repeated threats at Magruder in December?

How much faster could the victim have been gotten to a hospital?

If the shooter had not just been targeting one student the outcome could have been catastrophic.

Due to a new law re: juveniles the prosecutor was not able to comment re: motive yesterday.

There is a lot of public info re: gangs in MC, here are a few sources.

What were Alston Sr.'s convictions for? It's my understanding he is a felon and thus was not a possibility for home release for Alston Jr.

How can that boy just throw the gun under the chair like that? Was there a teacher in that classroom?

Also, three different parts of the gun were mailed to the house? Did the parents not know about the packages? Credit card was used? Whose credit card? Parents need to be arrested asap.. and the friend who put it together.

Probably credit card fraud was used to buy it. However I did have a credit card when I was 17

Claim in court "In court, the public defender said Alston Jr. has a solid family support system." Solidly anti-social it would seem from their actions and antics.

Yes, but the "frame" of the gun was on the floor of the classroom he was in. A photo was made available at the press conference and was posted in this thread. It was inoperable bc he had one part in his backpack and the magazine in his sock, but the visible object looked like a gun. Why was that not reported in far less than 2 hours. Why did the teacher not report a student not in the class was in lockdown with them?

SO many things from that day are so concerning and I am speaking of the staff, administration and emergency responders, not the students.
