It is conjecture as to "how many got through" - the fact is almost everyone coming through is seeking asylum, so want to get into the system. The right wing hyperbole machine would have you believe no one gets caught, no one gets deported, no drugs are recovered etc, in other words, no faith that the border patrol is doing its job. Facts matter, apprehensions, deportations and drug interdictions are all up from the Trump Administration.

OMG. That's because the number of people attempting illegal entry has VASTLY increased under the Biden administration. It only follows that of course all of the bolded are up - there are FAR MORE people at the border, thus there are FAR MORE apprehensions. Logic is not your strong suit, obviously.

I seem to recall hearing over and over and over again that when Title 42 was going to end we would be completely overrun and it would be a complete calamity. Or that Biden would be there welcoming everyone in and promising everyone free shit. Title 42 expired some time ago now and neither of those scenarios turned out to be true.

He is welcoming everyone. Through the CBP app. This administration continues to allow migrants into our country, provides them health care, food and housing, and transports them to areas in the US. They are just using different methods now.

The app is meant to be used so people can apply for asylum without traveling to the US border. It has already been effective in reducing the physical load of people. I thought that was what people wanted - apply for asylum from somewhere else rather than crashing the physical boarder. That is what this does.

No, what is needed is that people apply for asylum from the first country they travel to and WAIT to see if their claims are valid. That is NOT what is happening. Biden is just making entry to the country less chaotic. The vast majority of these people are not valid asylum seekers, but they will be in our country years before their claims are vetted. And, we will hear how these people can't be deported because they have been here so long. And, it is being reported that the vetting that is happening with the CBP app is not great.

The solution to the bolded is more money for administrative judges and corresponding support, so the cases can be heard more expediently. *for some reason* the GOP has been opposing this funding and reforms for more than a decade. Maybe ask yourself, why?

This administration deserves no more funding for our border until they decide they are going to get serious about securing our borders. Right now, the cartels control the border and everyone knows that except Biden, et al.

"Apprehensions." You do know what this means, don't you. It means that migrants cross our border and turn themselves in to border agents and claim asylum. They are then processed, some are deported, but most are released into the country. And, the reason "apprehensions" are up is because we have a record number of migrants crossing over. More than ever. in. our. history. And, then there are the 1.5 million got aways that are not apprehended. Again, numbers never seen in the history of our country.

Judges confirmed by Congress are not immigration judges.
More judges who are hired by Biden would just mean more people with fake claims being let in.
