Murder at Lululemon in Bethesda

Anonymous
I was not sure if they had ever left the store but it looks as though they did not. Its crazy bc I would have assumed that Brittant would have blown up after the accusation but I suppose she was in shock and left an then called Jayna back to have it out. There is the intent, but intent to murder still is hard to prove. HOWEVER, the fact that she basocally tried to decapitate her from tying something around her neck to sever it from the spine is horrendous. This is just ompletely horrible. I had also thought there was a possibility the defense might try the "it was an accident and she was pushed and fell and hit her head" but now with these details no way. Its just horrific!

Sorry- I think they did leave the store based on what I read.

The police would've clued in Norwood's brother (and Norwood herself, of course) that anything said in this room/building can be recorded and used as evidence. Norwood and her brother may have understood this intellectually, but, after several days of on-and-off questioning by police, during which time she's trying to come up with a convincing story, make said story as consistent as possible as she's asked for additional details, etc., she's going to be under a lot of stress. If the police detectives interviewing her leave the room "to get a cup of coffee," and she is left in the room with her brother, she may say some stuff to him that could work against her in court, just because she's relieved to see someone she knows and (presumably) trusts, and with whom she can (even if she should not, if she's not looking to incriminate herself) speak freely.

Jayna was put in a position that made her super vulnerable quite possibly with incomplete information. Incredible and tragic stupidity from Lululemon.

Curious if others saw a link on Brittany's website to an adult entertainer ad? Seems there was quite a need for $. Maybe drugs?

I do not understand why the Apple employees who heard screaming next door (this has been reported on the local news) did not call the authorities right away, at the very least.

I thought I read that they heard arguing next door. If I heard two women yelling at each other, I probably wouldn't call the cops, either.

Now, if it was really screaming, as in someone's being murdered screaming, that's altogether different.

Guess: They heard two women screaming, perhaps before things became violent. The screaming may have been muffled, and/or there may have been other noises (in the Apple store) that did not allow them to hear any specific words that may have aroused alarm. And the fact that they heard two women arguing may have led them to imagine that it was just a petty "cat fight," not something that may have already become violent (or would soon become violent) and would lead to murder. I would think that they're asking themselves now, however, how they could have not called authorities immediately, in spite of whatever it was that they thought they were hearing at the time.

There were 3 of us raised in a loving, stable curch attending, private school, home. Two of us are leading normal  lives but my brother was a different matter altogether. Like some of the pps my parents threw good money after bad in an attempt to help him straighten up his life. I'll never forget my parents' words when they found out he had died. My mom's first words were  - "what happened to all my prayers?" and my dad looked at me with the utmost despair and said "so this is how it has ended?". There is  nothing they would not have done for him.
To all those saying the parents had/have a part to play, I must raise a strong objection.

I am one of the PP's who posted about their brother and I know my parents would react the same way.

I truly feel for both of you and your parents. Senator McGovern's book about his daughter poignantly shares a similar story of parents' pain. If you haven't read it, his daughter Terry, who fought depression and alcoholism, was found frozen to death in a snow bank in Madison, WI, just before Christmas in 1994.

Unfortunately there are just some things that we have control over. Having control over our kids it one of them. Wouldn't it be great if we could get ANYONE to think the way we think they should especially when they are obviously off. It is unfortunate that it doesn't work that way when you know there is a train wreck ahead. Sometimes it is better to let go and let them hit bottom so that they may have to either figure it out or suffer the consequences of their bad choices. That is what they call tough love!

I agree. Their cell phone records can show at what time Norwood called Jayna to reopen the store to "retrieve her wallet", and also the time Jayna called the store manager to report on the stolen items.

Maybe Norwood called Murray's cellphone after she killed her. So maybe they never left the store. She's made up so many lies so what's another one.
Anonymous
They said the the lying that she has done is truly beyond belief. So she just makes it up as she goes along. She truly is pathological.....what a nightmare.

ABC7's playing an interview with a former lululemon employee right now.
