Settle this debate: PJs in hotel breakfast area

Anonymous
Fine for kids not adults. I am not above throwing some clothes and a baseball cap on and getting breakfast before my morning shower tho

While we are on this topic, what is up with women wearing fuzzy slippers out in public?
Anonymous
It’s sloppy and rude

I can’t believe this “debate” has gone on for 7 pages.

What do you expect the crowd to be like when something is “free”?

We don’t go in our PJs but I’m not getting showered and done up for the day to go eat breakfast in the Hampton Inn lobby, either. Get up, brush teeth/wash face, pull on leggings or shorts and a tee and go.

Nobody in my family brings pajamas while traveling but we certainly wear a pair of gym shorts and a t shirt which is essentially our pajamas.

What are adult PJs anyway? Most women wear a big t shirt if anything and men wear underwear if anything. So of course slipping on some shorts or yoga pants would be easiest.

Adults? Sweats and a t-shirt are fine. A nightshirt? No.

No, sweats aren't fine. No one wants to see a grown man in sweats.

Depends on the guy.

"Grey sweatpants season" is a thing for a reason.

Grey sweatpants do look very 80s nowadays. Like a deconstructed Armani suit. Or pants with pleats.

Crawl out of bed and go in PJs? Pretty tacky and gross. But at least you’d give all the other diners stories about you’ll never believe what we saw on vacation.

It’s weird you would even notice.

I've only ever seen young kids or teens/college aged kids do this. In fact, teens seem to wear pajamas anywhere and everywhere, which I find even more disturbing.

We usually shower at night when on vacation so getting "ready" before going to the buffet is pretty simple. I find it more revolting when people go to the buffet in their bare feet but when I mentioned it on DCUM, everyone told me how gross shoes are so whatever. I still find it highly inappropriate.

Exactly.

What’s rude about it?

Yeah I don’t get this. I wouldn’t do it or let my kids do it but I don’t care if others do.

Don't you know it's rude to offend your betters delicate eyes by not dressing up for breakfast at the Doubletree? You need morning dress at a minimum to scoop Froot Loops into a styrofoam bowl, and if you're taking even a single Sysco danish you better be wearing tails and a top hat.

Making the gentry look at us poors is the height of tastelessness.
