What happened to ECNL for FCV?

Not sure what is better, saying Loudoun outfoxed FCV or that FCV drooped the ball. Either way enjoy

Neither. US Soccer dropped a turd. That's the answer.

If posting a club record combining ECNL and CCL from U13 forward of 35-54-17 is doing something right then a fool and his money.

Loudoun as a club is 15-20-8 in ECNL and 20-34-9 in CCL.

They have 3 winning teams out of 12 representing their A and B teams.

There’s real competition in ECNL. No clubs can expect to dominate across all ages groups. If you want to keep traveling hours to win 8-0, stay at FCV.

I guess you are talking girls only. What is FCV’s record of A and B teams when you include both boys and girls? Oh yeah FCV has no boys teams because their boys program collapsed. Do they have a B team in every age group?

Loudoun doesn't win in CCL either. While there may be "real competition" in ECNL Loudoun is not considered competition by their ECNL opponents.

If waiting ten years to get ECNL only due to FCV's decision to leave ECNL is "outfoxing" then, ummmm, ok. VDA must have been playing the long game too then, and BRYC and Arlington, and Pipeline and the nearly 70 new ECNL clubs in the last 4 years.

1. VDA has been around 6 years
2. VDA was one of the the ONLY club on the East Coast with both Boys and Girls DA
3. VDA left after one year of the GDA. So did Hawks, PDA and others. Many clubs left after yer two as well.
4. ECNL in under US Club Soccer
5. The president of US Club Soccer is also a VDA person.

VDA didn’t out fox anyone. They took a path and followed it. It worked out.

Loudoun merged with FCV and FCV dismissed them. Loudoun pulled out
And applied for ECNL and basically got the pot vacated by FCV. It worked out for them.

That’s the way it goes.

The above point was a joke against Loudoun and your write up of VDA demonstrated how Loudoun didn't "out fox" anyone.

Also, Loudoun has a -20 goal differential as a club in ECNL.

ECNL may be more competition but Loudoun certainly isn't providing any.

If you removed the 07 record Loudoun would be 8-20-8 in ECNL.

FCV may drive hours to win 8-0 but at least as a club they win. It took Loudoun's best team OT to beat FCV.

For all the advantages that Loudoun has their record is abysmal and that is why Loudoun/ECNL Dad is here, day after day, night after night spreading FUD about every other league in the land. Because while his kid is wearing the patch she is still not sitting at the cool kids table because her club sucks. Loudoun sucks at ECNL, Loudoun sucks at CCL. The largest club in NOVA can't muster a winning record.

Loudoun was the one that disbanded the “partnership” with FCV once it was clear that FCV was not an honest partner. They disbanded it to explicitly apply for ECNL when all the “smart money” was on the GDA winning the war with ECNL. Loudoun leadership made a wise choice and FCV didn’t. LSC outfoxed FCV.

An opportunity fell in Loudoun's lap. That is very differently than Loudoun building and planning for an ECNL application. Has Loudoun regained any of the players they lost to FCV during the brief merger? If they honestly believed that they were in line to get ECNL do you think they would have tried harder to retain their talent?

Loudoun got lucky but they still have accomplished nothing while in ECNL to speak of. The club is a bottom half club and have one good team to show for it.

Then you should look at McLean, vda, bryc or Arlington. How many of the current fcv players came from Loudoun? Probably a lot. Ironic isn’t it?

Why couldn't Loudoun keep the players then? Loudoun is still so afraid of losing players they spend countless hours on these boards bashing GA. Imagine being such crappy ECNL club that you lose players to GA.

VDA is poor at soccer.
BRYC is poor at soccer.
Loudoun is poor at soccer.
MU is poor at soccer.
FCV is good at top level girls soccer, but poor at everything else including being decent human beings.

Guess that leaves McLean and Arlington. Maybe we should go back to the old 2 team ECNL for NoVa approach and call it a day ...
