I eat it as a side dish, a salad, in a veggie burrito bowl and sometimes I make sandwiches stuffed with the cabbage,

That looks delish! I will modify to make it simpler and bc I don’t think I’ve ever come across a cumin leaf, but I think it would be amazing with even just the cabbage, coconut, and a couple of the spices sautéed Together.

I just really like the flavor and texture. And it lasts forever in the fridge!

Good point.

Also, it's really cheap.

And crunchy.

And delicious!

I like to have shredded cabbage, rinsed kidney beans, and sliced Hillshire sausage links. Or without and anything else you want to add. With a twist of kosher salt and a dash of ground pepper and splash of lite soy sauce.

It’s delicious.

Oh that sounds good. I like to steam it with polish sausage, onions, baby carrots and maybe potatoes. So yummy lasts for days. Reheats well. I make a giant pot and have leftovers for lunch for teenage boys.

I plan to try this recipe this week. I’m salivating thinking about it! Can you recommend the polish sausage you prefer?

When I was a teen, I remember when we saw relatives in the south, there was some special type of sausage. It was delicious. I have no name for it and I’ve been on its hunt for nearly 30 years.

More cabbage lovers!

I love cabbage. Just introduced DH to cabbage ‘steaks’; he was amazed. Between us, we ate a whole cabbage for dinner.

I saw the recipe posted for cabbage steaks up thread and I loved its presentation and prep. How filling were they and did you serve with anything else?,
I’m thinking of topping with a mozzarella or a sprinkle of cheese? Because, of course I take something lean and throw some weight on it.
It’s in my blood. 😊

They are really filling. Some grated parmesan on them is really good

Very filling, especially when paired with something like this lentil mushroom gravy — https://monkeyandmekitchenadventures.com/vegan-hamburger-gravy-sos/?fbclid=IwAR1LhMpy7HtGH-9xvnxJPvREd__R-J5_A5BZkbsjkBc6UZArZ8gSaUzMG_E — I make a big batch and freeze into half pints; it is amazing.

That's ok; not everyone is a fan of the glorious cabbage! But, based on this thread, there are more than just crazy old me that love cabbage!

I made this ground beef cabbage casserole earlier this week, and it was really good. Easy to make and it felt filling. DH ate all the leftovers.

I usually just buy turkey kielbasa at the grocery store, although recently, I've been trying to buy nitrate free sausages from Whole Foods.

I'm sure if you wanted really good kielbasa you could go to kielbasa factory, but I don't usually do that.

This thread inspired me. Had a simple braised cabbage and onions as a side for dinner tonight. Yum and super easy
