They're projecting 45 teams. Thats so low.

I see 45 staff coaches...which sounds incredibly high.

45 coaches!? That seems crazy high to me.
How many teams are they expecting to have in each age group?

I really don’t see how one giant club is better for a regular kid’s soccer development.

Merger is meant to make stronger not expand. Neither club was a powerhouse on their own. By just expanding 2 mediocre clubs is just making a bigger mediocre club. The only way this works out is if you combine the clubs and contract the teams to 2/3 of the merger and hope the talent buys in. I see a lot of top kids moving on to other more established clubs.

says all existing players will be offered Spot on a team

So much for fair tryouts

I think some snowflakes will get their feelings hurt when they are no longer on the A team..

They better refer to the B team as the other A team to make everyone feel like winners.

If the a teams are the coaches keeping their current team and adding a player or two from the other club to placate parents, it’d expect a ton of families to leave

The assumption must be no one leaves.

The new philosophy at the club is everyone is on the A team

If your were an A team before you get your spot back

If you were on a a B team before congratulations you just got moved up to the A team

If you wanna come in as a new player great we have a spot on one of our brand new A teams

This logic does not make sense. If I play cya or SYA travel and I am a top player and you take the other club’s top players and put them on my team and drop the weaker players, my team will be better. Do the same with the coaches too and the top travel team in each age / gender is better. This gives the club better marketing material as they’ll win more and will be harder to make the top team. Yes, the weaker A team players from the two separate clubs might leave. So?

It says existing players will get a spot on a team, it doesn’t say they will get their spot back on their team with their coach.

It looks like they are anticipating some kind of Alexandria style program with many teams per age group-with their third teams on down all playing in the NCSL. So you could be on the top team at SYA but with all the talent they think they will b recruiting from outside the leagues, you could end up on the third team. Which is somehow supposed to be beneficial to the players? Not sure how.

They want the weaker players to stay, keep paying them, and be OK with being on a lesser team for the glory of playing for FC Valor...
