Now if you want ECNL for your DD because it makes you feel good that SoCal or Texas is ruled by ECNL - go for it. You are as likely to play them as the GA teams are. Are GA parents excited that Olympic Lyonnaise Reign, part of the top international women's soccer club in the world, is in the GA? They are not here rubbing it your face cause that’s silly. We probably won’t play them either. But to each their own. You do you. Maybe you should move to SoCal or Texas and see if your DD can make ECNL there. How do you think that will go?

This is the third post I’ve seen mentioning OL Reign. What’s the big deal? Barcelona has an academy in the US and it’s a joke. GPS has a Bayern Munich partnership and they’re mediocre. Isn’t it just a marketing ploy?

I don’t see top European clubs affiliating themselves with ECNL teams.

Lyon affiliated themselves with the Seattle Reign NWSL team. I doubt OL asked about what American youth league the Reign's travel teams were in before closing the deal.

Don't you think a club like Olympique Lyonnais might have done their due diligence on the US youth system, and the potential pipeline of players who might be develop through that system for their team?

Sporting Blue Valley, the 4th highest ranked remaining ex-GDA club, just announced that they are All-In for the ECNL Regional League. Not sure how GA can be the A league when top clubs eligible for GA are choosing ECNL 2nd division over it. GA might be the C league if this continues.

Man, you guys are sensitive. LOL. If you post that your league is the A team, and someone give evidence that it is not, then you try to change the subject. Stay on topic. Is it the A league or not? All signs are pointing that it is NOT.

I don’t choose where my kid plays based on the league but based on the team and coach. Please tell me how a team in Kansas is relevant to my decision in the DMV.

So why when you are asked about your team you defer to the patch and a club a thousand miles away?

How does this make your team better?

It doesn't make any team better, but it does ensure that the events that ECNL teams will be attending will have more college scouts watching. Recruiting budgets will be more limited because of the economy, so colleges will have to strategically target which events they will attend. With the top clubs nation-wide joining ECNL and ECRL, those events will be college scouts' top choice.

Scouts are still smart enough to know that mid atlantic talent is greater in the GA than ECNL. They will adjust accordingly.

What NoVA ECNL is your kid on that my kid should join?

There is no such thing as a ECNL tryout. So what local team will play in the Champions League showcase that my kid should tryout for? With college programs losing funding how many coaches will wonder beyond the Champion's League fields. What local team will guarantee my kid Power 5 school exposure?

Haha. OK... if you say so.
