GA is the new A league

You mean the same BRYC 03 team that won zero, lost 4, and tied 2 out their 6 showcase games when they left the ECNL MA? That one?

BRYC 03 is very good, but nice try at an insult. BRYC plays all kids equally in showcases regardless of a win (Could FCV have done that by DA league rule, or were subs limited?). All kids were seen by 75+ coaches on the sidelines. That's a win to me, especially given that ECNL showcases are now tiered, meaning a McLean 03 or Loudoun 03 showcase “record” is meaningless in comparison because it was against lesser cross-conference competition. College coaches know this, but you apparently don’t and instead find it fodder for attempted insults. If you're playing even or beating everyone from MI Hawks to SLSG-MO to MD United to McLean 02, the team is playing well. Perhaps your insult was directed to Mikey instead. You wanted him to play to win all those showcase games? Putting kids in front of colleges against top-tier competition does not seem to be squandering talent to me. That’s exactly what we all want, I thought.

Do you deny FCV had a longstanding policy of not playing certain local ECNL teams? How else would you account for the lack of play over several years? And WHY would that policy exist do you think? Anything at all to do with not wanting a direct comparison in quality or type of play? And WHO set the policy? The roster of scorers on FCV 03 is not deep, and I still think BRYC would have won that game any time over the last few years. Playing primarily through one player wouldn’t cut it.

Oh I see, for BRYC, showcases are not indicative of quality but for other teams like FCV a scrimmage is the end-all be-all. A scrimmage.

You have zero credibility now.

Will the new "A" league have a policy preventing "A" league teams from playing ECNL teams in the same market, even if in a scrimmage?

another angry post. Calm down! GA exists because us soccer sucks and GA formed to take the place of what the disgrace of our national soccer governing body left. It couldn’t be simpler than that. It’s really not about ECNL at all. I personally think ECNL is stupid not to have made an attempt to persuade these very good programs to join in one, unified league, but that’s really their loss at the end of the day.

Their loss? The ECNL has made all the right moves all along. they could have any club they want on the girls side we all know this. Admitting they have made the right moves all along is something harder for the DA or should I say EX DA parents to admit.

As for College they are loosing federal and state funds by the millions. 33+ Million unemployed says enrollment will be way down and with less Football and Basketball tickets sold, funds for Title IX sports will be at record low levels. So when these coaches chose to spend their small dollars wisely searching for U16 and U17 talent across the nation next year do you really think they will be clamoring to watch U16 Salvo SC vs Philly Ukraine or U16 LAFC Slammers vs Ohio Elite? U17 West Florida Flames vs Rise SC or U17 PDA vs Michigan Hawks? Come on dude, we all know the answer. Lamorinda vs Utah Royals AZ or SLSG vs REAL Colorado. The list goes on and on.

According to this list, any FCV players of recruiting age (03-05) have no reason to make a move unless they are leaving the DC Metro.

Exactly the point. 06 and below should consider a move but maybe not until COVID is over. Older teams are better off staying where they are if they want good college recruiting, who cares that GA is not the A league.

And again, what club should 07’s and younger all be racing to?

In this area, GA MA > ECNL North MA as of now. Race to the better local league this year. Re-assess at the end of the year when things change, as you should every year.

Exactly what are you +1ing?

You agree that College enrollment is both going to drop, limiting recruiting staff while inversely RAISING ECNL showcase status?

You think all of that is going to happen AND ECNL showcases are going to go on as normal? Have you been watching the news?

The entire State University of California system has already said they will be holding classes ONLY remotely. California’s D2 conference has already cancelled their fall sports. The MAC has already eliminated post season tournaments.

More shoes are about to drop but you happen to believe that HUGE ECNL Showcases are just gonna remain unchanged?

ECNL has 6 national events. 4 of which are held between November and February. You still believe those are going to remain unchanged with thousands of kids flying in from all around the country?

Now how financially viable will a National league remain if it hasn’t been able to host a showcase in over 12 months?

If you think Loudoun rec parents are pissed about being out $160 for a lost spring season what will ECNL parents be like without a real national showcase until next April after a fall season of zoom practices?

They are splitting the ECNL ma conference into a “north” and “south” for play. Haven’t you heard?

Florida will allow all sports with no precautions. So all the tournaments will be moved there. Done deal.

Who will fly there and how good will you play with intermittent training at best?

And not only would ECNL have to spend money for field space for three more events in FL they are still on the hook for the unused venues in Arizona, Texas and South Carolina.
