GA is the new A league

Thanks FCV guy. We shall see, won't we?

Don't really care which league is better, but there really is not much difference. The difference is with each team, their coach(es), and their players. That's it. Arguing over these two leagues is silly. Competition is stiff in both. Too bad they won't play each other more often. Its a shame really that adults want to prevent this.

At several ages Arlington is better than Mclean too.

Shoot at certain ages even MU is better than McLean like the U16s. U14s probably a tie.

MU is not better than Loudoun. But, hey, lets have them play and find out. Across all ages.

I cannot think of any age group that Loudoun can beat MU except U13 where MU had no team! Most Loudoun teams would lose to MU. This is the issue with ECNL. The bottom teams are really really bad.

Most of the GA parents I know share this view. Based on the postings here and in other places, it seems that a few loud and obnoxious ECNL boosters are stoking the fires of this phony competition.

If GA is the new A league why did teams run back to ECNL?

If MU FCV Arlington had the chance they would run to ECNL in a heartbeat. They choose GA they had no choice unless they wanted to go to CCL/EDP

If the teams and coaching are better, why does the league matter? They could play EDP and still be better. On the flip side, they can have the ECNL patch and play lousy. See many local examples. It’s about the training environment and culture more than patch chasing.

It all depends on what club and team your kids is on. Top teams draw attention bottom teams not so much. It will not really matter if you are in the ECNL or GA. If your club has a great team a year up and your kid’s team struggles you might as well play in the CCL.

So why even go to GA? Why didn't the clubs go to NCSL is league don't matter?

National showcases. If you want to play in college and are looking at schools outside of your region, both leagues provide this opportunity. Also, not enough strong competition on the girls side in the region for top players.

Higher standards. 10 months. 4 days a week. Play same teams. That’s as simple as we can put it for you to understand.

Holy Smokes. Why does it matter if ECNL or GA is better.

We need at least two dominant leagues to exist as any monopoly would really be bad for everyone.

We don’t need two leagues. That was is why US Soccer left the DA. ECNL is the top league. I get why people wanted to keep the DA format bu the reality is that the top teams in DA joined ECNL if your kids feels like the DA format is bets the good for the both of you but the top teams are in ECNL. GA will go away in less than 24 months.

I guess you have a problem with thinking then. I’d take Loudoun in almost all age groups. Set it up.
